Chapter 373: The stares
With how many people stare at Lu Chen and Ye ixiu, he knows this isn't the best place to talk.
"Let's talk sowhere else." Lu Chen drags Ye ixiu away, not wanting the stares to keep eyeing him down. As Lu Chen brings Ye ixiu up to his office, the workers stare at him as well.
Murmurs erupted!
"Did you see the girl brought by the CEO?!"
"She's so beautiful. She may be a new agent the CEO has scouted."
"Or maybe she is the CEO's wife."
"Impossible! Isn't Zhang Jian and the CEO an item?"
"I always thought it was a three-way love between Gong Changmin, Zhang Jian, and the CEO."
"..." Lu Chen's face darkens while Ye ixiu laughs at the comnts.
"It seems the break has made all of you guys lax." If Lu Chen could, he would have taken back the break and given them over ti.
The workers quickly shut up and went back to looking at their computers. They were looking down, trying not to look up at Lu Chen's dark face.
Lu Chen doesn't look at them anymore and brings Ye ixiu into his office,
"Wow, your office is so big." Ye ixiu looks around, amazed by how large the space is. She continues and jokes, "You look smugger now."
"How did you find out where I work?" Ignoring her joke, Lu Chen responds with a question instead. He has never told her about where he's working.
So how did she find out?
"I went to your house a while ago, and aunty told that you would be here working." Zhang Wenling had spilled the beans on everything. Ye ixiu can hear the proudness she has towards Lu Chen.
"So why did you co here?"
Ye ixiu pouts, "Is it wrong for to co here?"
"N-No."
Ye ixiu laughs, "Don't worry about it, brother Chen. I'm not mad. But here." She brings up the bag she has in her hand,
"I've been practicing my cooking skills, and I want you to try it."
"...You didn't have to bring anything." Lu Chen's face becos uncomfortable. After the incident on the trip, Lu Chen didn't know how to respond to Ye ixiu's feelings.
What made it worse was he doesn't know how to treat her now. He can't look at her as a sister. But neither as a love interest.
It felt so weird to him.
"Here, brother Chen. Ahh." Not knowing what was going through Lu Chen's mind, Ye ixiu made her move. She picks up a piece of at and brings it up to his mouth,
"You don't have to-" Lu Chen moves away from her, not wanting to do sothing like that.
"Ahh~"
"Cmon-"
"Ahh~"
"..." Lu Chen doesn't know what to say. But looking at her resolute eyes, he knows he couldn't do anything else. It's a losing battle for him.
He takes the bite of food given to him. Ye ixiu's face sparkles, and she tries to feed him another piece of food. However, Lu Chen was going to refuse this one,
"I'm not going to give up."
"Hmm?"
"I'm going to keep attacking you! I won't stop until I steal your heart!" Ye ixiu spills everything out. She already knew sothing was up between Feng ifeng and Lu Chen.
And with how much Lu Chen is changing, who knows how many girls are coming after him?
Looking at how reserved Lu Chen was, Ye ixiu knows she can't be the one standing there waiting. She has to be the one attacking.
"..."
"You can keep looking at like a sister for now. But I'm going to make you change your mind about . I swear upon my na!"
Lu Chen continues to be speechless. Ye ixiu's actions keep surprising him. It's like she wants to one-up the other one.
He sighs, "I don't know what's going to co out of this later on, though. You shouldn't waste your ti on ." Lu Chen doesn't know whether or not he would love Ye ixiu in the future. He would rather have her not waste her ti on him.
"It's my decision whether or not to waste my own ti." Ye ixiu's face brightens up as she brings herself closer to Lu Chen's body.
"I know I can charm you and make you mine." She hugs Lu Chen's arm tightly, not wanting to let him go again.
