Chapter 323: I have my ways
"Don't get started. That woman was on today." The whole reason why Zhang Jian looks like he's been in a typhoon is due to Ling Wei. After he finished, the judges said that he did well.
All except one. Ling Wei was the only one who comnted,
"The way you sang today is sothing that I didn't expect. It was less than what I expected from you.
The song doesn't fit you at all. The other two you sang before had the sa sort of genre to them. I think you should just stick with that instead of doing sothing new."
As Ling Wei says these things, the crowd was booing her really hard. The other judges looked at her with skepticism as well. Yes, Zhang Jian was trying sothing different today. Compared to the other two he sang, it was much different.
But he still did it perfectly. The other judges understood that Ling Wei was obviously aiming to take Zhang Jian down.
The judges didn't say a thing about it as this was the judge's critiques.
"I understand." Zhang Jian bows his head. It was noticeable that Zhang Jian was dejected as he walked back backstage.
"..." 'So she is coming after us now.' Lu Chen already expected Ling Wei to be coming after them. With her personality, it was only a matter of ti before she did it.
"Don't worry about her. It's only a matter of ti before her mouth gets caught up with her." Lu Chen comforts Zhang Jian. But he shakes his head,
"No. I'm not worried," Zhang Jian smiles as he continues, "This is the best challenge! I'll prove to her that I can sing better than anybody here! She won't be able to say anything when I do this!"
Zhang Jian wasn't worried at all. Instead, his face was full of fire, raring to go. He was never angry about what she said. Instead, he was using it as fuel to improve.
"...ok then." Lu Chen didn't say anymore. No, he didn't need to. A smile was on his face, seeing his best friend like this.
Ling Wei miscalculated. Zhang Jian wasn't the type of person who couldn't take a couple of words to his face.
"Pff, haha." Laughter erupts beside the two. They turn to see Chu Jingyi laughing at them. Well, specifically at Zhang Jian.
"Hello, senior Chu." The two were going to nod.
But Chu Jingyi waves his hand, "Aww, don't act like that in front of ."
"How can we not? You are our senior. We gotta act respectfully for you."
"Haha, I'm not acting like a senior now. It seems I don't need to worry about you, Zhang Jian." The reason why he ca over was to do the sa thing as Lu Chen.
Everybody could tell Ling Wei was trying to take Zhang Jian out before he grew.
Chu Jingyi knew Zhang Jian did really well today. So he ca over to comfort him, telling him not to let her words affect him.
However, he didn't need to do anything.
'I wonder how Ling Wei is going to react when she hears this?' Thinking about it, Chu Jingyi knows she would probably explode from rage.
She wanted to destroy him with her words. Instead, her words boosted the child's enthusiasm.
Laughing about it for a bit, Chu Jingyi turns to Lu Chen, "Actually, there is sothing I ca here to do. Lu Chen, you need to watch your back."
"Hmm?"
"Sobody is after you. It seems that the person is gathering enough intel about you before attacking."In his company, people were talking about the company Arcs.
Even after a couple of days, the company was still getting fa. But then Chu Jingyi overheard the workers asking about the CEO, saying that sobody would give them money if they knew any information about him.
That's why Chu Jingyi was here. So that he could tell Lu Chen about everything.
"Oh, so so people are targeting now. That's nice." The mont Lu Chen says this, Chu Jingyi looks at him strangely.
'How could you be so calm when sobody is after you?' Their company was still so young. But they showed off great potential.
And a great potential to be a threat too.
Other companies see Arcs as an up incoming threat that needs to be taken down.
"You don't have to worry about this. I have my ways of dealing with this." Lu Chen smiles. He was thankful that Chu Jingyi had told him this.
'If they want a fight, then they're going to get one.'
