Chapter 279: Either leave or go to jail
"Ghhh." Lu Chen stretches his arms as he finishes so paperwork. For the past few days, Lu Chen hasn't been going to school. Instead, he has been in the company.
With the perfect score on the Gaokao, there was nothing else he needed to do at school for the most part. So he had pulled all-nighters.
And he wasn't alone. Duan Huiling was working with him as well.
More than that, she has been working more than Lu Chen. Hiring new people and continuing to assess the old ones. Just those alone was already a lot of work.
However, besides her hard work, there was sothing Duan Huiling was mulling about,
'He's wearing it today as well.' For the past few days, Lu Chen wore a mask to work. When she first saw it, she was curious as to why he was wearing it.
The reason why Lu Chen was wearing the mask was because of Kang Shuchun.

In the morning, Kang Shuchun ca into his room, "Young master, please wear this to work." and gave him a mask.
But Lu Chen shakes his head, "I don't need to wear one, though."
But Kang Shuchun insisted, "Young master, the bruise on your face is still prominent. If you go to work like this, weird rumors will float around about you.
You don't want people to think of you as a bad CEO, right?"
'Aren't you stretching it?' Lu Chen was still going to refuse. But Kang Shuchun gave him a pouting look,
"Do it for ?" When Lu Chen heard that, how could he say no now? Also, wearing a mask is a good idea.
Lu Chen smiles at Kang Shuchun for her good intentions. However, what was really going through the girl's mind was,
'Good. These vixens will not know about Chen Chen's handsoness now.' Kang Shuchun was sighing in relief now that Lu Chen's wearing the mask.
The best way for Lu Chen to stop attracting won is to hide that handso face of his.

Despite her intentions of hiding Lu Chen's looks, the mask didn't help at all! It couldn't hide Lu Chen's handsoness.
And to make matters worse, it gave Lu Chen an aura of mystery as well.
Tho, it did kinda hide the slap mark on his face. However, Duan Huiling could see bits of red on his face when she saw him close together.
She could tell that sobody had slapped his face with the five-finger mark. But seeing how Lu Chen was acting calm about it, Duan Huiling wasn't going to pry.
As they were working, the door slamd open! It was a security guard. Lu Chen raises one of his brows,
"Can't you knock before you co in?"
The security guard bows his head, "I'm sorry, sir! But this is an ergency! There's a big problem!"
"What's the problem?" Lu Chen was unfazed.
"A bunch of people you have fired before are in the front of the building. They are demanding justice from you, and there are a bunch of reporters as well."
Lu Chen sighs as he walks out of his office.
...
"We demand justice! We won't be leaving until we get an apology!"
Many people who Lu Chen and Duan Huiling fired were chanting together in front of the building. They just couldn't believe they would get fired like that without any warning at all.
Their chanting kept getting louder. And more people started to co over, taking videos and pictures to this.
So reporters were interviewing the ex-workers on what happened. And the interviewers were crying or talking about how hard they were working at the company.
Before anything could happen, Lu Chen ca out of the building. When everybody saw who it was,
"Mr. Lu, is it true you have fired all these workers without paying them?"
"Mr.Lu, how could you fire such hard-working workers?"
"We want justice!"
All the reporters and ex-workers bombard him with questions!
Before they got too close, the security guards got in front of Lu Chen, not letting anybody get close to him.
'Why are there so many people here?!' Duan Huiling had followed after Lu Chen, wanting to figure out what happened.
Never did she expect there were so many ex-workers protesting like this. She was going to advise Lu Chen to handle this delicately as there were many reporters.
But the only words that ca out of Lu Chen's mouth were,
"I've already called the police. You either leave or go to jail."
