Chapter 223: Through the park
"Good morning, ifeng."
Hearing Lu Chen shouting at her, Feng ifeng greets back, "Good morning to you as well."
"..." Silence took over. After greeting each other, the two didn't know what else to say to the other, leading to the silent awkwardness.
"Well, I'm going to go to school now. Later." Not wanting to stick around any longer in the situation, Lu Chen was about to run.
Before he could, Feng ifeng pinched the ends of his uniform.
"Hmm? What is it?" Lu Chen was confused as to why she grabbed him.
"Let's walk to school together." The mont Feng ifeng said this, Lu Chen looks at her with a frown.
"Why? If you still feel guilty about what happened to , you don't need to worry about it. You've done more than enough for ." Getting tutored by her at the hospital was enough paynt.
Actually, there wasn't a need for repaynt from her.
When Feng ifeng heard that, she frowns, "I'm not doing this out of paynt."
'Then why?" Rembering what she said about how she needed to focus during this ti, her asking to walk with him is the complete opposite.
"..." 'Why am I doing this?'
Hearing Lu Chen's question, Feng ifeng doesn't seem to realize why she was doing this. Seeing the dumb expression Lu Chen has, she shouts,
"Because I want to! Got a problem with that?!" She doesn't understand but being questioned by Lu Chen like that made her heart feel flustered.
"..." Now it was Lu Chen's turn to be silent. He felt that he just heard the most BS excuse ever. It wasn't even an excuse. But it's enough to make Lu Chen's mouth clamd up.
'Whatever.' Lu Chen didn't say anything anymore. He was just going to go to school. However, as he walks, Feng ifeng follows suit.
Lu Chen was too tired to say anything to her. He didn't want to start his day off with a bomb in his hands.
As the two of them walks to school, Feng ifeng made a strange expression, "Why are you going this way?"
"What's wrong? Ain't this the usual way to get there?" Lu Chen tilts his head, wondering what's wrong with the route he usually took.
Feng ifeng explains, "You're taking the longer route. No wonder you were late that day. You should know about the... Actually, never mind. Just follow ."
Rembering how Lu Chen cos from a wealthy family, then he definitely wouldn't know about the secret way.
Feng ifeng drags Lu Chen through the opposite direction of the route, and when he saw the way Feng ifeng brought him, he felt suspicious.
'Why did you bring to such a sketchy place?' Lu Chen didn't need to look at it, as the sll coming off of the alleyway was hideous.
And looking at it, there was pure desolation of people, and there was a large amount of garbage everywhere.
Seeing the alleyway, Lu Chen rembers what Zhang Wenling had said to him a few minutes prior. Getting his guard up, Lu Chen's ready to punch anybody that jumps out at him.
However, Lu Chen never had the chance to punch sobody. Feng ifeng continues to drag him, smoothly evading all the garbage around them. But when they ca out of the alleyway, Lu Chen looked surprised.
"What the?" Between the alleyway, there was a park. Never did he expect that behind the alleyway, there's a park.
"Surprising, isn't it? When I first ca to this place, I was just like you.” Feng ifeng laughs at his shocked face.
"Why is there a park here?" Seeing a park covered by a bunch of buildings sses with the industrial image it got.
"Apparently, the park was built way longer than the buildings. And from what I heard, the construction workers aren't allowed to destroy the park too."
Even though this park is hidden from sight, it was still well-maintained. Then Feng ifeng points at the other side,
"Once we go through that alleyway, we would only be a few minutes away from the school." It was another alleyway. Dragging him, Feng ifeng was going to help him evade the trash again.
"Who's that over there?" Lu Chen spots an old man lying down on a bench in the corner.
The old man sleeps on the bench without a care in the world.
