Shao Liulang trembled with rage. He shot a venomous glare at Qiao Xuan and seethed inwardly.

Shao Liulang, clearly frustrated, glared at both Shao Yunduan and Qiao Xuan. "As imperial envoys sent by the Emperor, shouldn't there be a reception banquet in our honor? Are you planning to declare to everyone that you are a traitor?"
Shao Yunduan replied coldly, "Of course there will be a reception banquet. You need not worry about that."
Undeterred, Shao Liulang continued, "You're a scholar and should uphold the values of the Great Qin Empire. Don't engage in actions that would bring disgrace or be intolerable to the Saints and Sages. If you stray, you can still change course. Don't harm others or yourself! Hmph!"
He snorted heavily and stord off, leaving in a huff.
First Old Master Qiao hurried after him.
Qiao Xuan and Shao Yunduan exchanged surprised glances.
Qiao Xuan remarked, "When did Sixth Cousin beco so eloquent? It's quite a surprise!"
Anyone unaware of his background might genuinely admire his bold and righteous words.
Shao Yunduan considered it for a mont before shaking his head with a sneer. "He's been in the capital for a long ti, so he must have picked up a few things. If we weren't family, he wouldn't dare speak so freely. The Old Master of the Qiao Family is rather sensible."
Qiao Xuan laughed. "That's true. But it does make things complicated. Are you really going to hold a banquet?"
If Shao Liulang made a public fuss, Shao Yunduan would be unable to do much about it, which would create an awkward situation.
