"Quit your cafeteria part-ti job. You'll be handling HR work for the next few days. Once recruitnt is over, you can focus on your main duties."

Chen Yansen said slowly to Song Yuncheng during dinner.

"If I take on extra work, will there be a pay raise?"

Song Yuncheng cautiously inquired. Last night she had been quite satisfied with her 2,000 yuan monthly salary, but compared to Zhang Wenbo's 4,000, the difference was imdiately apparent in her mood.

"Stop nagging! Believe , I'll dock your pay! Peel these shrimp for !"

Chen Yansen grinned, delivering a subtle threat.

"I...I really do have a boyfriend. If he sees you, you're finished! He's an athlete—eight-pack abs, could take on ten of you easily."

Song Yuncheng didn't want to peel shrimp and said seriously with a straight face.

"Eight-pack abs like mine?"

Chen Yansen lifted his shirt, revealing his well-defined abdominal muscles.

"You pervert!"

Song Yuncheng glanced quickly, her ears turning red, and hurriedly pulled his shirt down.

"Call your boyfriend. Tell him I'm waiting right here."

Chen Yansen tossed his phone over, gesturing for Song Yuncheng to dial, his attitude extrely arrogant.

"Boss, I was just joking. It's just peeling shrimp—I love peeling shrimp for you."

Song Yuncheng's face stiffened, but she imdiately put on a smile and reluctantly began peeling the shrimp.

"Go to the startup park early this afternoon. Rember to buy disposable cups. If any students co for interviews, have them line up properly."

Chen Yansen popped a shrimp into his mouth, chewing as he spoke.

"Boss, I have class this afternoon."

Song Yuncheng frowned slightly, looking troubled.

"Obviously, skip it! Do I need to teach you that? Work hard with , and I'll promote you and give you a raise!"

Chen Yansen offered her an empty promise without caring whether she could actually receive it.

"Oh, okay."

Song Yuncheng hesitated for a long ti before finally replying weakly, then asked, "What about you?"

"Obviously, I'm going back to take a nap."

Chen Yansen rolled his eyes at her, annoyed.

"..."

Song Yuncheng pouted. If she weren't afraid Chen Yansen would dock her pay, she probably would have lunged at him already.

Seeing she didn't dare speak up, Chen Yansen couldn't help but laugh. Bullying honest people felt quite satisfying sotis.

After lunch, the two parted ways at the cafeteria entrance.

Chen Yansen returned to his dorm to catch up on sleep, while Song Yuncheng went back into the cafeteria, apparently preparing to resign as Chen Yansen had instructed.

When he woke up, it was already 1:30 PM.

Chen Yansen put on his clothes and strolled leisurely toward the startup park. Arriving there, he was quite surprised to find the number of afternoon interviewees had doubled compared to the morning. The second floor of the startup park was packed.

"Go call Director Cao over."

Chen Yansen ordered Song Yuncheng. With so many people, he worried about potential trouble and asked Song Yuncheng to bring Cao Dahua over to help maintain order.

Though confused, Song Yuncheng did as told. Who knows how she communicated it, but Cao Dahua ca squinting, holding a teacup, striding over with a big smile.

"Ahem! What's all this chaos? If you're here for interviews, line up properly! This is a ss—no order at all! You blocking the way—which college and class are you from? Who's your advisor?"

Cao Dahua cleared his throat and asked sternly.

Hearing this, everyone quickly lined up obediently. The students who had been blocking the way earlier lowered their heads, not daring to breathe loudly.

"Director Cao, thank you for your help," Chen Yansen greeted with a smile.

"Call if you need anything!" Cao Dahua gave him a 'just say the word' look, then turned and went back to his office, clearly ready to slack off again.

Chen Yansen sat down, picked up a resu, and called out, "Xiang Pengfei!"

The afternoon candidates were clearly more capable than the morning's. After all, word had spread that only one person had been hired from dozens of morning interviewees. Without real skills, no one would have dared to co.

From the scorching sun to deepening dusk, Chen Yansen was exhausted. Being the sole interviewer was unavoidable, but fortunately, the afternoon yielded good results.

Besides back-end developer Xiang Pengfei, he also recruited a data warehouse administrator, a product manager, and a test engineer. However, developer numbers were still insufficient. He had originally planned to hire two to three people per position, aiming to complete the website before October for official launch.

I hope tomorrow's candidates will bring so surprises, Chen Yansen thought to himself.

"Brother Sen, we'll send you the equipnt list later. Developers will use their own computers for the first week to ensure no work delays,"

Xiang Pengfei said as he left. Chen Yansen had offered him 4,000 yuan monthly, which imdiately boosted his enthusiasm.

"The equipnt will arrive in three days. I'll handle domain registration, servers, and broadband." Chen Yansen then looked at the slender boy beside him. "Zhuang Rui, draft the product requirents in advance so we can all review them together. Let's aim to start working systematically according to the developnt plan next week."

Zhuang Rui was a third-year software engineering student with considerable expertise in product architecture and system design. His 3,000 yuan monthly salary, while not as high as Zhang Wenbo's and Xiang Pengfei's, was already quite satisfactory to him.

"Got it, Brother Sen!" Zhuang Rui nodded in response.

After everyone left, Chen Yansen looked at Song Yuncheng, who remained behind, and joked, "Trying to treat to dinner again?"

"No, no... I don't have my own computer. Could I borrow your laptop for now?" Song Yuncheng stamred, head bowed.

"What about yesterday's computer?" Chen Yansen frowned, asking softly.

"It belongs to my roommate, but soone else needs it too, so I can't borrow it for three days." Song Yuncheng looked down at her shoes, sowhat embarrassed.

Chen Yansen asked curiously, "If you don't have a computer, what do you usually use for drawing and design?"

"The library. The computer lab," Song Yuncheng answered briefly.

"Those electronic junk piles? They lag even playing Spider Solitaire! You're amazing!" Chen Yansen shook his head, both amused and exasperated, finally sighing, "The password's 920204. Got it?"

"Simple. I've got it."

Song Yuncheng smiled slightly, her heart filled with gratitude.

"Good. It's my birthday. Don't forget to get a gift then."

Chen Yansen walked to the door and lazily reminded her.

"But... I'm really poor."

Song Yuncheng muttered under her breath as she watched Chen Yansen's retreating figure, a strange emotion flickering in her watery eyes.

Leaving the startup park, Chen Yansen strolled along Xuehai Road.

His phone vibrated in his pocket. He pulled it out to see a ssage from Xu Xingxing: "Hey, bought so beer. Wanna grab a drink?"

"Another ti,"

Chen Yansen replied casually. Xu Xingxing was indeed beautiful with a great figure, but he wasn't in the mood today. He hadn't seen ng Jie for two or three days and had arranged to et her at Room 0418.

Soon, Xu Xingxing sent another ssage: "Do you always chat with girls so directly? You seem experienced. How many girlfriends have you had?"

Chen Yansen was taken aback. Rereading the ssage, he caught its slight ambiguity. Xu Xingxing's attitude was interesting—not angry but continuing the conversation.

He thought for a mont and replied: "Do you want to know the specific number, or hear stories about my past?"

"What difference does it make?" Xu Xingxing asked again.

"Numbers are like stars in the sky—countless. But I could share more detailed past stories with you soti." With nothing else to do, Chen Yansen typed away, deliberately teasing.

"In-depth talk at a hotel? The kind where you bring your ID?" Xu Xingxing asked.

"Sure. I've never seen a girl's ID in my life," Chen Yansen replied, feigning ignorance.

Xu Xingxing, lying in her dorm, couldn't help but chuckle, covering her mouth. Guys like Chen Yansen, though a bit roguish, were undeniably amusing. Those boring guys were too tireso to even talk to.

After a few casual replies, Chen Yansen stopped responding to Xu Xingxing.

He walked up to the fourth floor, his gaze sweeping the corridor. He saw ng Jie carrying fruit, leaning against the railing, looking down.

"Oh, Class Monitor ng is here! With fruit too! How thoughtful!" Chen Yansen approached, smiling and teasing.

"I didn't know what you liked, so I bought a little of everything." ng Jie smiled faintly, her cheeks flushed. Her moist lips glistened in the dim light, making one want to kiss them.

"You're wearing makeup?"

Chen Yansen could naturally tell and asked with a smile as he opened the door.

"Does it look good?" ng Jie stood on tiptoe, wanting Chen Yansen to see more clearly.

Other girls might shyly say, "I did this especially for you," but ng Jie's personality wouldn't allow that.

She would only express it through action: Chen Yansen, this is my first ti wearing makeup. Look carefully.

"Mmm, very pretty. Makes want to rush to the police station for a marriage certificate, preferably have a baby right away."

Chen Yansen leaned down, looking into her eyes. They were only centiters apart, able to hear each other's breathing clearly.

A faint fragrance filled the air.

"Get lost!" ng Jie couldn't help but smile. Clearly, Chen Yansen's sweet talk pleased her greatly.

"Co in. No need to change shoes." Chen Yansen stepped into the living room and plopped onto the sofa.

"Am I the first girl to co in?" ng Jie set down the fruit and asked abruptly.

"Uh, no." Chen Yansen shook his head, outright denying.

"Oh? Who ca before?"

ng Jie's smile vanished instantly as she asked unhappily.

"Teacher Liu. And her female relatives, friends, students, etc." Chen Yansen suppressed a laugh and answered with feigned seriousness.

As for Song Yuncheng—he automatically omitted her.

When chatting with girls, you tell one truth and nine lies. Telling the whole truth would make you look like a simp.

"You're deliberately ssing with !" ng Jie threw down the fruit and suddenly pounced on Chen Yansen, grabbing his collar.

"Sigh, I interviewed over a hundred people today. My eyes are tired. Can I hug you?"

Chen Yansen changed the subject, opening his arms and looking exhausted.

"You... you just love taking advantage!" ng Jie complained, but her body betrayed her as she hugged Chen Yansen's waist like a child.

Chen Yansen lowered his head and kissed her. Several minutes later, just as he was about to take things further, ng Jie gripped his hand tightly, panting, "If you do this again, I won't co next ti."

"I was just curious. Don't mind ,"

Chen Yansen withdrew his hand, grinning. He then opened the coffee table drawer, took out a small box, and placed it on the table. "This is for you. I have one too—like a couple's phone!"

It was a brand new iPhone 4.

"It's too expensive. You should return it." ng Jie's heart skipped a beat at "couple's phone," but upon learning the price, she quickly shook her head in refusal.

"It was a free gift from the telecom company. Wang Zihao has one too. Can't have my girlfriend be the only one without, right?"

Chen Yansen said seriously.

Hearing the word "girlfriend," the corners of ng Jie's mouth turned up involuntarily. After a mont's thought, she said, "Then I'll reluctantly accept it."

anwhile, in the Dean's office of the School of Literature and dia.

"Professor Guo, I heard one of your students is working on a startup project. Could you have him recruit a few students from impoverished families?"

the Dean asked cautiously.

"Dean, that's true, but it seems he only recruits computer science students. Doesn't quite fit our School of Humanities,"

Guo Dongchen spread his hands with a helpless expression.

"That is true. What position does he hold in class?"

the Dean asked again.

"No position at all," Guo Dongchen answered truthfully.

"That won't do! Such an outstanding student—as his advisor, you should proactively give him more responsibilities," the Dean said sternly.

Guo Dongchen hesitated, then finally nodded.

Thus, after escorting ng Jie back to her dorm, Chen Yansen only learned he'd been appointed vice class monitor when passing by Room 8302.

But what's a vice class monitor in university?

The Youth League secretary is practically the sa as vice class monitor!
