Chapter 1016: Chapter 1012: The Valuable Data Can Only Be Given to Wen Xin
Mu Chengxi gave Liang Luoyu a faint glance. He had been in Independent State recently and had not heard Wen Xin ntion anything about Tan Xingyue. Suddenly hearing Tan Xingyue wanted to et him ca as a surprise.
“Bring him in,” he said.
Mu Chengxi lifted his hand to rub his slightly aching temples. For so reason, he felt an unsettling feeling in the pit of his stomach. All he wanted now was to quickly deal with the matters at hand and then return to Independent State to find Wen Xin.
Mu Chengxi sat on the couch, looking at the cellphone in his hand. He wanted to call Wen Xin to ask about her current situation, but he dared not. He was afraid he couldn’t control himself and would want to return to Independent State to find Wen Xin.
While Mu Chengxi was in the midst of his struggle, Liang Luoyu ca in with Tan Xingyue.
Mu Chengxi heard the sound of the door opening and lifted his head to look at Tan Xingyue, who stood beside Liang Luoyu looking sowhat nervous.
“Do you have sothing for ?” he asked.
“Yes, I have sothing I want to give to Wen Xin,” Tan Xingyue said, pulling a docunt envelope out of his backpack.
Mu Chengxi watched as Tan Xingyue defensively held the docunt envelope to his chest. He could tell that Tan Xingyue had no intention of handing it over.
“Do you intend for to take it to her?”
Mu Chengxi looked at Tan Xingyue with an uncomprehending gaze. He could see the wariness in his eyes and didn’t understand why he had sought him out if he didn’t trust him.
“No, it’s that I can’t reach Wen Xin. I want you to take to her. The contents of this docunt are very important; they’re related to the cause of Wen Xin’s parents’ issues. I recently went back to my grandmother’s house and found this among my grandmother’s belongings by chance,” Tan Xingyue explained.
As soon as Tan Xingyue ntioned grandmother, Mu Chengxi’s originally expressionless face suddenly darkened. Tan Xingyue, noticing the change in Mu Chengxi’s expression, instinctively stepped back, sensing a dangerous aura.
Liang Luoyu, who had been standing by Tan Xingyue’s side, had been watching Mu Chengxi all along and caught all his reactions. He was also surprised by Mu Chengxi’s sudden change of deanor.

Tan Xingyue hugged the folders in his arms tightly and shook his head forcefully. Every cell in his body rejected Mu Chengxi’s proposal. This item could only be handed over to Wen Xin in person. He couldn’t trust anyone, not even Mu Chengxi.
“I can’t give it to you. This can only be given directly to Wen Xin,” he insisted.
Mu Chengxi watched Tan Xingyue’s actions. He had been debating whether he should wait until this matter was settled before looking for Wen Xin, but now he had no doubts left.
He knew the item Tan Xingyue was clutching was a ticking ti bomb, sothing that held absolute danger for Wen Xin. He couldn’t let her face the danger alone.
“Wait for one day, you and Liang Luoyu just stay at the research institute today, there are people here to protect your safety. When I return, I’ll take you to Independent State.”
After speaking, Mu Chengxi stood up from the sofa, picked up the car keys on the coffee table, and rapidly left.
He needed to settle so dostic matters, then return to Wen Xin’s side as quickly as possible.
After Mu Chengxi left, Liang Luoyu walked over to Tan Xingyue and extended his arms, embracing the visibly anxious Tan Xingyue. Wrapping his arms around her, he brought her down to sit together on the sofa.

Tan Xingyue extended her arms around Liang Luoyu’s arm, closed her eyes, and rubbed her head forcefully against his shoulder, seeking so sense of security.

She forced herself to calm down and contacted Liang Luoyu imdiately. Fortunately, Liang Luoyu arrived quickly enough, or she didn’t know if she would have been silenced.
Liang Luoyu, feeling the person clinging to him trembling, held Tan Xingyue’s hand tenderly, his voice softly soothing, “It’s okay, don’t worry. It’s very safe now; there’s no danger.”
Tan Xingyue clung tightly to Liang Luoyu. Listening to his comforting words, she shook her head forcefully.
“I know it’s safe here, and I’m not afraid of anything. Right now, I just feel sorry for Wen Xin.”
“I’ve always known that Wen Xin sacrificed a lot for and grandma. Since grandfather passed away, Wen Xin seldom smiled. She used to obediently go to school, even though she often skipped classes, but she would still be at ho.”

Tan Xingyue removed her arms from Liang Luoyu’s, sat up straight, and with watery eyes, stared at Liang Luoyu.
“Liang Luoyu, in fact, both Grandma and I owe Wen Xin. She did so much as a way to atone. She wanted to repay the guilt of her parents for involving my father in his death. She wanted to make ands for the guilt of making unable to walk because of her.”
