Chapter 1010: Chapter 106: The Assassin’s Identity Revealed
Having dealt with two groups of people who wanted to kill him, Wen Xin jumped down from the wall and walked towards the blazing fire.
The closer he got to the burning car, the louder the sound of the flas beca. Wen Xin wasn’t certain whether there were any survivors, but he didn’t dare to let his guard down.
Moore was watching from not too far away, his brows unconsciously frowning as he saw Wen Xin moving cautiously. He couldn’t help but wonder, was there soone else in the shadows?
Just as Moore was about to jump down to join Wen Xin, a black shadow darted from the light of the fire. Moore had no ti to warn Wen Xin; his hands reacted faster than his brain, firing several shots in the direction of the shadow…
Bang, bang, bang…
Hearing the gunfire, Wen Xin quickly halted his forward movent, turned around, and saw a man in black lunging towards him.
Although hit by Moore’s gunfire, the man in black had only one thought in his mind—to complete his mission and kill Wen Xin.
Wen Xin t the man’s fierce gaze, his dark eyes narrowing as he lifted his foot and fiercely kicked the man’s chest, who was flying towards him. He then quickly rolled to the side, hiding behind cover.
Wen Xin’s kick was powerful, and combined with the man’s gunshot wounds, he fell heavily to the ground without getting up again.
Seeing that the man was no longer moving, Wen Xin, sitting on the ground, struggled to get up and walked over to the man, tearing off the mask from his face.
Looking at the man’s unfamiliar face, Wen Xin’s tightly furrowed brows unexpectedly relaxed a bit, his lips parting slightly as he let out a sigh.
In a tone both light and indifferent, he said, “I was really afraid you’d be soone I knew. If you were one of Old Fox’s n, I’d be afraid I couldn’t control myself and would make the Wen family disappear from Independent State.”
Wen Xin had thought about making the Wen family disappear from Independent State, but… for his parents’ efforts, and before solving the huge problem of the Elders Guild, the Wen family still needed to exist.
Moore rushed over from not too far away. As he reached Wen Xin’s side, he just heard Wen Xin’s words about making the Wen family disappear from Independent State, and he unconsciously squinted at Wen Xin’s lean body.
He couldn’t imagine the amount of pressure this frail body was bearing.
Before Moore could feel sorry for Wen Xin, he saw the birthmark on the man’s neck in the light of the fire. He was montarily stunned, as this was a faction he hadn’t expected.
“Little princess, this man is from the ng Clan…”
Hearing Moore’s words, Wen Xin slowly looked up, his gaze cold as he watched Moore, feeling a bit puzzled. Since he had returned, everyone had taken action, except for the ng Clan, which had been completely quiet.
“How can you be sure it’s the ng Clan?”
“The tattoo on his neck is a unique mark of the ng Clan…” Moore said as he pulled open the man’s collar, exposing the tattoo on his neck.
He continued, “The ng Clan seems peaceful and is the most honest in Independent State, but not many people know that they control one of the most powerful rcenary organizations.”
Listening to Moore, the serious expression on Wen Xin’s face beca serene in an instant.
“Speaking of rcenaries… If I’m not mistaken, wasn’t Ghost’s Domain also founded from a rcenary organization?”
After Wen Xin finished speaking, Moore understood what he ant, nodded, and then shook his head, “Ghost’s Domain is different from the ng Clan’s rcenaries. I can’t explain exactly how they differ right now, but I will give you the information on the ng Clan’s rcenary organization when we get back, and you’ll understand then.”
“Alright.”
Wen Xin withdrew his gaze from Moore and looked at the man lying on the ground. He reached out to check the man’s breath, raising an eyebrow in surprise.
“Are rcenaries so unprofessional now? Shouldn’t there be poison in their teeth? Aren’t they supposed to bite through the poison and commit suicide imdiately?”
After Wen Xin had spoken, the man lying on the ground couldn’t help but let out a muffled groan. The reason they hadn’t prepared poison was that they never anticipated these two individuals would be so hard to kill.
Wen Xin no longer paid attention to the man on the ground, standing up to look at Moore, “Ask them how much longer until they arrive…”
When Wen Huai and Moore’s n arrived, they were stunned to see such a scene unfolding before them as they got out of their vehicles.
They knew that Wen Xin and Moore had encountered an ambush on the road, but they hadn’t imagined the situation would be this dire…
He didn’t dare to think if Wen Xin was still alive…
“Sis—sis… are you okay?”
“Sis… sis… don’t scare … sis… you…”
Wen Huai’s voice trembled, not daring to think about what he would do if sothing had happened to Wen Xin because he arrived too late, if…
“Boss… Boss…”
“Little princess… Little princess…”
It wasn’t just Wen Huai who harbored these anxious thoughts—the n who ca with him shared them as well, and upon seeing such a sight, they all felt that the odds were against Wen Xin and Moore surviving!
Sitting in the dark corner, Wen Xin and Moore looked on indifferently at the agitated group, especially Wen Xin, whose gaze was cold and devoid of any warmth, seemingly unmoved by their concerns.
“We’re here…”
After a few minutes, Wen Xin slowly stood up from the ground and walked toward the direction of the light.
Upon hearing Wen Xin’s voice, Wen Huai seed to co back to life, hurrying towards her direction. He embraced Wen Xin without a second thought.
“Sis, you really scared to death. I thought…”
“Young Master, the little princess has injuries, don’t hurt her.”
Seeing Wen Huai’s excited reaction, Moore approached slowly, reminding him in a gentle voice, as he didn’t want Wen Huai’s rashness to cause Wen Xin further injury.
Hearing Moore’s words, Wen Huai carefully released Wen Xin, putting so distance between them to check where she was injured.
“It’s okay, no need to worry, the bleeding has stopped. Leave this scene for them to handle, and take to the hospital,” Wen Xin said while pulling on Wen Huai’s arm, heading towards the car they ca in. She wanted to inquire about Ghost’s Domain on the way.
She felt that things were becoming increasingly complicated and was sure that Madam ng, forrly Miss Bai, had a hand in her parents’ affairs from years past.
Whether Ghost’s Domain is related to the rcenaries now employed by the ng Clan is sothing yet to be determined…
Sitting in the car, Wen Xin closed her eyes, tired; she could only hope that her suspicions were wrong, as she didn’t want to doubt the grandmother who had raised her from childhood.
