Lu Hao and Lu Jianguo arrived at the police station and followed the police to the morgue.

When they saw soone lying on that bed, they felt a chill all over.

If the police hadn’t ntioned it before, they would never have believed that the person lying inside was Lu Ting.

How could it be Lu Ting?

How could the person barely propping up the white cloth be Lu Ting?

The last ti they saw Lu Ting, she was still so normal.

The person lying there was lifeless, and their frail body barely held up the white cloth, how could it be Lu Ting?

But they had forgotten how long it had been since the last ti they saw Lu Ting.

They had forgotten how long Lu Ting had been away from ho.

"You guys should go in and take a look." The police behind them said to Lu Hao and Lu Jianguo.

Lu Jianguo moved his steps, struggling to move forward.

While Lu Hao’s eyes were filled with guilt and panic.

He didn’t even know why he felt this way.

Lu Jianguo slowly approached Lu Ting, trembling as he reached out to her on the bed.

Slowly, he lifted the white cloth covering her.

The next second, a skeletal figure appeared in front of Lu Jianguo and Lu Hao.

"No, no, this isn’t Little Ting." Lu Jianguo almost instantly denied that the person on the bed was Lu Ting.

Lu Hao looked at the corpse that didn’t resemble Lu Ting at all, seemingly relieved, and said, "That’s right, this isn’t my sister Lu Ting. Lu Ting doesn’t look like this."

The woman on the bed was so thin she was just bones.

The man in the family was a butcher, eating at every day. How could Lu Ting beco this thin?

The person in front of them definitely wasn’t Lu Ting.

After exchanging a glance, the two policen said, "Then let’s take you to see soone."

Lu Hao was inexplicably flustered.

Soon, the police took them to a cell, where a man was sitting inside.

Lu Hao couldn’t forget this man, who looked very nacing.

And when Lu Jianguo saw Zhang Daqiang, he also believed that the person in there was Lu Ting.

But how could that be? Liu Fenglan clearly said following this man would lead to a good life, so how did it turn into this inhuman ghostly existence?

When Zhang Daqiang saw Lu Hao and Lu Jianguo, he didn’t show the slightest bit of guilt.

"Do you know this person?" the police asked, looking at Lu Hao and Lu Jianguo.

Zhang Daqiang snorted coldly.

"Why did Little Ting end up like this?!" Maybe it was because of overwhelming heartache, or perhaps because they were at the police station, or maybe because of the prison bars separating them, but Lu Jianguo was very agitated and questioned Zhang Daqiang.

Zhang Daqiang looked at the furious Lu Jianguo, his face unchanged.

Lu Hao’s courage seed to grow: "You bastard, is this how you treated my sister?"

Zhang Daqiang glanced at Lu Hao, his fierce gaze falling on him.

Lu Hao imdiately grew silent.

Zhang Daqiang couldn’t help but let out a sneer: "When you guys sold her to , she was already mine. I can do whatever I want."

Lu Hao and Lu Jianguo’s faces turned red, retorting, "We just married her to you, didn’t sell her."

Zhang Daqiang: "What’s the difference? If you hadn’t agreed back then, why didn’t you co directly to take her back? Now that this has happened, you co to for answers. Don’t you think you’re hypocritical? Pretending to be sanctimonious."

Lu Hao opened his mouth but couldn’t say a thing.

Lu Jianguo was also at a loss for words.

Zhang Daqiang looked at their expressions with a sardonic smile: "You were inactive back then, so now that she’s dead, don’t pretend."

Lu Hao gritted his teeth, but what the man said was true.

Zhang Daqiang seed to think it was not enough and continued, "Did you know, from the first day you sent her over, I tied her to the bed. I made sure to vent my frustrations harshly every day before and after work, which was indeed satisfying.

She wanted to escape, and nearly succeeded, but I recaptured her and tied her up with chains.

After spending so much money to buy her, how could I possibly let her go just like that, don’t you think?

All this ti, if you had co to see her even once, I might have restrained myself a bit. But you never did, which put at ease.

It’s a pity, she was even pregnant with my child, but I accidentally lost it while on the bed.

But no worries, I don’t need to leave any offspring behind."

Zhang Daqiang’s words were like sharp swords stabbing into Lu Jianguo and Lu Hao’s hearts.

Every word was like a lingchi on them.

The miserable image of Lu Ting appeared in Lu Jianguo and Lu Hao’s minds, rging with the image of the woman who had just been lying on the bed.

They could almost imagine the inhuman abuse Lu Ting had endured.

The police looked at their expressions with a aningful glance and said, "Can you confirm the identity of the person inside now?"

Lu Hao nodded grimly.

His heart was inexplicably filled with fear, because Lu Ting’s condition, and her death now, were all partly his responsibility.

If he had been able to stop Liu Fenglan back then, Lu Ting wouldn’t have ended up like this.

"Then you should prepare to take the body back." the police said.

Lu Hao said nothing. If he hadn’t known the state Lu Ting would end up in from the beginning, he would have gone to see her.

But after seeing her condition and knowing the reason for her death, he dared not look again.

Just one more glance felt like Lu Ting would rise up and seek vengeance from him.

Although Lu Jianguo was not as afraid as Lu Hao, he also felt guilty.

But they had no choice but to take Lu Ting’s body ho.

As for Zhang Daqiang’s deliberate abuse and murder, he would definitely be sentenced, and there’s a high chance he’d get the death penalty.

Lu Jianguo and Lu Hao rented a flatbed cart to place Lu Ting on it.

Logically, they could have just carried her back, as Lu Ting currently weighed less than seventy pounds.

They could easily carry her back.

But neither Lu Hao nor Lu Jianguo wanted to, not sure if it was out of fear or contempt.

On the way, many people glanced at the flatbed cart, perhaps finding it odd that soone was pulling a cart at night, with a shadow on it resembling a human body.

Lu Hao could only quicken his pace.

Soon, the two of them dragged the cart back ho.

Liu Fenglan had been waiting at ho, not daring to sleep.

Seeing Lu Jianguo and Lu Hao return, she imdiately went to greet them, but upon seeing the flatbed cart behind Lu Jianguo, an ominous feeling surged in her heart.

"What is this? What did you bring back?"
