Chapter 193: The Fallen Proud Servant

"We harvested quite a lot of cores," Qi Huan kept them all inside his storage bracelet while Ye Jiao only stored the rank 2 beasts’ at. After eating the at from rank 2 beasts, she no longer felt like eating the at from rank 1 beast because of their difference in Eon Energy concentration.

"What do you plan to do with them, Senior Brother Qi?"

"We can’t consu them directly because it can kill us, but we can sell them for a good amount of price. Rank 1 cores normally sold at the price of 10 copper. It can be used to light up small devices in the household. Rank 2 cores normally sold at the price of 1 silver. If you gather 100 rank 2 cores, you can use it to light up the transportation array to transfer 1 person."

Ye Jiao arched her eyebrows in surprise. "It ans the cost to use a transportation array is just 100 silvers or 1 gold?"

"No. The one who can activate it must be at Eon Energy Master rank 3 and he’s helped with a lot of rank 1 cores to sustain himself. Every activation is very taxing, so they give the price of 100 gold," Qi Huan smiled.

100 gold... that was daylight robbery.

"That’s why they always gather a lot of people to share the cost. After all, not everyone has the necessary requirent to activate the array and if there’s not enough rank 2 cores, they have to use 10 tis more rank 1 cores."

"I see."

Qi Huan stretched his body. "Do you want to keep these rank 2 beast cores? You might want to use them."

"No, thanks. Oh right, how about beast rank 3?"

"If it’s rank 3, you can use just 1 to activate the transportation array and use it to transport 10 people. In the four kingdoms, beasts at rank 3 were fairly rare, so it was quite a luxury to have them."

Ye Jiao was speechless. It seed that the amount of Eon Energy inside the cores were much more compared to what she thought at first.

"Let’s go. There’s still a long way to go."

"Ah, alright."

The two of them dashed and left the scene. There were a lot of beasts’ corpses left there, but neither one of them cared. It was already a common sight in the wilderness, though the number itself might be a problem.

little did they know that when people found out that there was a lot of corpses of beasts in one place, they reported it as there was soone extrely powerful running rampart. After all, it was not easy to defeat a large number of beasts at once.

Ye Jiao and Qi Huan were oblivious as they made their way to Chen Kingdom Capital City.

"Senior Brother Shan, what kind of excuse do you think will match us if we want to enter the city?"

"Let’s just say we’re the children of adventurers. We co to the city to buy supplies because our parents ordered us to."

"And our parents are waiting in the forests?"

"That should be a good idea," Qi Huan looked at Ye Jiao for a split second. They have so differences in their appearance, but those people shouldn’t pay too much attention. With thick clothes, they should be able to make their appearance a bit unclear.

"Got it."

The two of them stopped their insane running speed when they were nearing the edge of the forest. Slowly, they used normal children’s ordinary speed as they ran to the gate. The guards were looking at them suspiciously.

"Stop, you may not pass!"

"Ah, Mr. Guard, we’re here to buy so supplies!" Ye Jiao acted cutely on purpose.

"Supplies?"

Qi Huan nodded. He acted more mature as he pointed to the forest. "Our parents are adventurers, but they’re tired after fighting a large beast just now. Because of that, we volunteer to buy so supplies for them. Can we pass through? We promise that we won’t take long."

"Yes! We just need so water for Mommy," Ye Jiao extended her hand and said in exaggerated manner.

The guards were helpless in front of these children. He signaled the guard to open the gate. ????Fine, but make sure that you don’t create trouble."

"Don’t worry, we’re already grown up!" Ye Jiao replied as she ran inside like a child.

On the other hand, Qi Huan smiled. "Thank you, we won’t take long in the city."

As the two of them disappeared into the crowd, the guards soon forgot about them. There were a lot of people who ca to the capital city each day, so they were not able to rember them all.

"You’re good at acting," Qi Huan smiled in relief. This was the first ti he saw Ye Jiao act because they always did personal mission during the last few months that they spent in the West. He had never seen the little girl acted before because it was unnecessary to act when they were in the Headquarter.

At most, she would act careful around the other people because a lot of them were powerful.

Ye Jiao smiled. "I practiced a lot from the missions lately."

"I was worried you’ll be like a certain soone who didn’t seem to have common sense that he needs to act to survive."

"I’m glad that I don’t have to do missions with him too for the past few months."

The two of them smiled wryly. They knew how bad Lu Wan could be in acting and it was pure torture to force that young man to act. Even the slightest act was seen as a disgrace for him, so they couldn’t do anything but give up on persuading that young man. He would only do the bare minimum in terms of acting.

"I can’t ever understand why he decided to be an assassin without any ability to blend in with the crowd," Qi Huan sighed. One of the basic abilities that an assassin needed was not just to hide in the dark. They needed the ability to act and lived in the crowd without anyone suspicious of them. Lu Wan was clearly a large failure for the second part because he was the type that just barged in and did his work then ran away.

"He’s not the type to think much of his decision," Ye Jiao smiled wryly. She recalled the story that he told her and she knew, he accepted the offer in a spur of mont. It was only later did he realize how bad he would be in terms of acting and blending in.

Qi Huan sighed. "Back to the topic on hand. Where do you think he will be?"

"It should be either his residence or school," Ye Jiao responded after thinking for a bit. "Let’s split up. I’ll check the school while you check his residence."

Qi Huan arched his eyebrows. Wouldn’t it be better for Ye Jiao to be the one checking the residence with her ability to conceal herself? However, it would be good practice for him because he was rarely able to sneak into a residence. Even if they found him, he could just find a way to get out with his ability.

Not that he was the kind to make foolish mistake, though.

"Sure, I’ll get going first."

"Take care. Don’t get caught."

"I won’t."

Ye Jiao sprinted to the school. She easily crossed over the fence from the area that was covered in trees and entered the school ground. Her eyes wandered around as she was looking for Lu Wan. It was resting ti, so a lot of students were around.

She approached a nearby student. "Excuse ."

"Yes?"

"Have you seen Young Master Lu Wan from Lu Family? The teacher is asking for him."

"Young Master Lu Wan is in seclusion ever since his return to Chen Kingdom. I haven’t heard news of him getting out."

"Oh," Ye Jiao looked disappointed. "Okay, I’ll tell the teacher. Thank you very much!"

"Yes."

The student didn’t feel suspicious at all as he walked away. Ye Jiao headed to the other direction when she faintly heard a familiar voice yelling from a distance.

"You ungrateful b*stard! Do you think that you deserve to be standing on the sa page with ? Dream on! You’re just a trash now #$%^&*()."

Ye Jiao followed after the voice and saw two children on the side of the school. A girl was fiercely beating up a boy, who was crouching on the ground. Every strike she gave out was vicious as it directly hit the boy where it hurt the most.

"Wei Mi and Wei Liao."

The sight of the girl beating up the boy seed unfamiliar in her eyes, but she herself still rembered how Wei Mi used to beat her up along with the others. Wei Liao would follow her order like a proud servant.

Now, that proud figure has disappeared. Replacing it was the poor and helpless boy who was beaten up viciously.
