"Yo, Kakashi!"
"Kakashi-sensei!"
Might Guy and Kitagawa Gen both noticed Kakashi approaching and waved at him.
"So you two were here."
Kakashi strolled over, holding his signature orange book. He glanced at the distant Lee before smiling.
"Not bad at all. That kid really reminds of you."
"Of course he does!"
Guy gave a hearty thumbs-up, then called Lee over, who was eyeing them curiously. Patting Lee on the back, he laughed.
"Lee, this is my eternal rival—Hatake Kakashi! He’s also Gen’s ntor. A truly incredible guy!"
"Hello, Kakashi-sensei!"

Lee’s eyes sparkled with tears of emotion. Guy, deeply moved by the power of youth, was also misty-eyed.

Gen raised a brow. Kakashi nodded.
"New intel just ca in. The Akatsuki have been spotted in the Land of Wind. Hokage-sama is currently negotiating with the Kazekage. If all goes well, we’ll be heading out in a few days."
"That so?"
Gen’s eyes glead with interest. He didn’t expect that old geezer Danzo to move so efficiently. And the Land of Wind—now that was a promising location.

[Objective: Assist Kakashi and Might Guy in a mission in the Land of Wind.

Seeing the quest pop up in his system, Gen blinked. Looks like this mission’s going to be fun.
"Got it. I’ll be ready."
Kakashi didn’t know what Gen was thinking. He just smiled and said:
"For now, it’s and you. We’re also requesting Guy to join the team."
"Guy-sensei?" Gen raised a brow, glancing over at Guy still hugging Lee. "Isn’t he ntoring his new students? What about Jiraiya-sama and Tsunade-sama?"
"Jiraiya-sama has other matters to attend to, and Tsunade-sama needs ti to adjust to managing the dical Corps," Kakashi explained quietly.
"As for Guy, he’s already had run-ins with the Akatsuki before. His students can wait—he’s the ideal choice for this."
"Fair enough."
Gen nodded. Honestly, Guy was a beast. The guy sohow managed to deal with soone like Hidan—that spoke volus.
"Don’t worry too much."
Kakashi patted Gen on the shoulder, smiling.
"No matter what cos our way, we’ll handle it. Besides, ever since you joined , our luck’s been turning around."
He genuinely believed that. Thinking back to all the painful goodbyes—his loved ones dying in front of him while he could only watch helplessly—Kakashi still felt a deep sorrow.
But since taking Gen on as his student, things had changed. Sure, he might still end up hospitalized more often than not... but at least he wasn’t losing the people he cared about anymore.
If he had to choose, Kakashi would rather be injured a hundred tis than suffer through that kind of grief again.
After a bit more idle chatter, Kakashi and Gen said goodbye to Guy and left.
"Guy-sensei, are you going on a mission?" Lee asked curiously after they left.
"Yeah," Guy replied with a solemn nod.
Guy nodded, flashing his signature White Fang-like grin.
"Bit of a surprise, but it’s nothing major. I’ll be back before you know it."
"Can’t we co too?"
Lee’s eyes lit up with hope, but Guy gently shook his head.
"Sorry. This one’s a direct order from the Hokage. I’m not allowed to bring students."
"Then why is Gen-senpai going?"
"...Gen, huh..."
Guy paused at Lee’s question, then simply smiled and shook his head again.
It wasn’t that Gen’s history was so kind of secret—he just didn’t want to discourage Lee.
Gen’s record as a shinobi was... overwhelming. For a fresh Genin like Lee, it might be disheartening to hear.

anwhile, at the Akatsuki base in Agakure
"So... Konoha’s making their move?"
Pain looked at Obito and Zetsu, frowning.
"Is Kitagawa Gen on their squad?"
"Of course he is," Obito said coldly. "That brat never misses these kinds of missions."
Just hearing the na Gen filled Obito with seething frustration. He hated that kid.
"Is that so..."
Pain nodded slowly, then muttered,
"Who’s going on the mission? If they’re not strong enough... I want to go to the Land of Wind myself."
A chilling aura spread from him—clearly, his hatred for Gen hadn’t cooled.
After all, it was his body—Yahiko’s—that had been destroyed by Gen. That wound would never fully heal.
Still, he was giving Obito so face. Obito and that two-faced creep had returned Yahiko’s body, after all.
"At least he’s being rational,"
Black Zetsu thought, relieved. If this were the old Pain, he’d have stord out already.
But Black Zetsu didn’t want things getting chaotic. So he stepped in quickly.
"I recomnd none of you get directly involved."
"...Why?"
Pain frowned, while Zetsu continued.
"This whole operation was set in motion by Danzo. He’s been the one sniffing around for our intel.
And I’m sure you’re... familiar with him?"
Pain didn’t speak, but his killing intent spiked sharply. Of course he knew Danzo.
"But if we want to eliminate him, we’d have to enter Konoha directly. We could do it, but the consequences would be severe. He’s a high-ranking official, after all."
Zetsu’s lie was half-true.
"The best way to deal with him is to let him believe the intel we leak is real. Then we can feed him false information and gradually lure him into a trap."
"This whole mission? It’s Danzo’s doing. We mustn’t expose ourselves."
Pain and Obito fell silent at that. After a while, Pain asked,

Guy’s eyes sparkled as he gazed across the endless desert dunes.
"Yeah. We made it."
Gen was just as excited.
The Land of Wind was barren and dry, but he imdiately sensed sothing—Minato’s Flying Thunder God mark.
It was faint, but close. With a bit more distance closed, he could reach it and inspect its condition.
"This place... is nature’s treasure trove," he muttered.
His Magnet Release stirred—it was telling him there was gold to be mined in this desert!
"...Hm? Kakashi-sensei, soone’s approaching."
Just as he was getting excited, he noticed figures approaching in the distance.
"Probably the Sand Village delegation," Kakashi replied.
"Let’s go greet them. Be polite."
They headed toward the newcors.
But just a few steps in, one of the elderly figures in the group suddenly froze. Then, with surprising speed, he charged straight at them—rage painted clearly across his face.
"You’ve got so nerve showing your face in Sunagakure!"
"Prepare yourself, White Fang of Konoha!"
