"Hell yeah!"
Aegon shouted as he clenched his fists around the heavy hamr. Sweat dripped across his dense muscles as he grinned from ear to ear.
Finally, he did it. He made the Soul Essence Battery, the first in existence.
There weren’t Mana Batteries before, but Mana Stones were similar, so that invention didn’t asure up to his current one.
The only way to replenish exhausted Soul was to rest and ditate and let it happen naturally, unlike Mana, where people could just use Mana Stones to quickly recover.
There was no other way. Not before today.
Aegon had succeeded in making Soul Essence Batteries which could help Soul Cultivators replenish their Soul Essence faster. It was much more complicated than Mana Batteries, but he had done it.
He heard soft claps from the side and turned to see Liliana smiling proudly at him and clapping. Her eyes showed genuine happiness for his achievent.
"Congratulations, Aegon. You’ve created sothing that would change the world," she said. "This would help Soul Cultivators a lot, and they can also finally participate in battles properly."
"There’s a catch though," Aegon said, still smiling. "Unlike Mana Batteries, we can’t use natural ways to fill it. Soul Cultivators need to fill the batteries with their Soul Essence so that they can use them in ergencies."
"It’s still very useful," Liliana said. "Though, you care about your machines only."
"Yeah," Aegon nodded as he set the hamr down. "These are expensive to make, so mass production is out of the equation. But I’m pretty sure Soul Cultivators will empty their heavy pockets for them."
"You’re considering it," she laughed. "You already have so much wealth, then why do you seek more?"
"Just for the fun of it," he shrugged. "I like making money, especially if it’s coming from my creations since I focus on things that improve the world."
"I see," Liliana said. "Can you show the Soul Battery?"
"I really suck at naming," Aegon said.
He cleared the things around him before picking up a purple glass shaped like a cylinder. Inside it, transparent mist swirled around slowly, giving an amazing view.
Smiling at it, he gave it to Liliana and said, "I’ve tried it, and it works well."
"I wouldn’t know," she chuckled, taking it from his hand. "I’m curious why you added Oblivion Quartz."
"Because I don’t want this thing to suddenly gain intelligence," Aegon said as he began to clear the room. "If Soul Essence is densely gathered in a single place for a long ti, the world thinks it’s the Main Consciousness, making it possible for it to gain sentience."
The Oblivion Quartz helped with that, as it basically erased any signs of sentience from everything. If soone held it for too long, they would beco brain-dead.
"I didn’t know that," Liliana’s lips curled up. "Interesting."
Aegon then spent a short ti explaining everything about the Soul Battery to Liliana, who grasped everything quickly despite being new to the study of Souls.
This was the mind of a veteran.
After a while, they both sat down at the table with one less problem at hand.
"That’s one matter we dealt with, so now the only thing that remains is making the machine itself," Aegon said. "Through the Rune, we can confuse the world into thinking that the Soul Essence coming from the Soul Battery is coming from a person and being used by a Soul Cultivator, making it possible for a machine to carve out Rune Formations."
"We have to find the suitable ingredients and design the machine," Liliana muttered.
"Leave the ingredients part to ," Aegon grinned. "I’m an expert at it. I’ll give you the materials matching that Rune. That’s what’s needed."
The Rune was very sensitive and could cause serious harm if it wasn’t handled properly. Aegon had firsthand experience with that, so he was very serious about it.
Fortunately, he had the Eye of the Primordial Appraiser, so he could see the rhythm each material held, and he just needed to run through a set of combinations of countless materials to see which matched it.
It was a hassle and ti-consuming work, but he could shorten it. Not to ntion, it was very helpful since he didn’t need to take risks and try things out with the Rune like Brandon, the crazy researcher.
He died because he didn’t have what Aegon had. The guy experinted randomly and paid the price for it.
Aegon could bypass that.
Liliana had witnessed the miracle herself, so she knew what he ant. She smiled and said, "Then leave the design and working of the machine to . I’ll make sure it works properly and can form the Tier 3 Rune Formations needed for the Mana Battery."
"I won’t stand on formalities then," Aegon said.
He knew she was far better in this case than him. He was still struggling to make things like that, so it was better if she handled it.
Seeing that they had nothing else to do for the mont, they decided to call it a day.
"I’ll take my ti with the designs and have soone create the prototype using normal materials," Liliana said. "While you can focus on finding the right materials."
"Alright," he nodded in response. "It might take so ti though. And I haven’t really focused on my cultivation for a whole month. Aghh! I need so ti-dilation facility."
"You do?" Liliana blinked. "Well, I can help you with that. But rember that while ti moves differently for you, the world is still the sa, so the speed of cultivation will slow down by a lot."
"Really? You have access to such ti chambers?" Aegon’s eyes lit up hearing that. "Done! Help with that, Senior. Even if I can’t cultivate there, I can practice my spells."
"That’s true," Liliana nodded. "You’ll have to wait a few days for that, though."
"No problem at all."
They talked for a bit more on their way out of the Academy before they parted ways. They shared similar interests, so Aegon could never get enough of discussing things with her.
It was like if he talked about one thing, a thousand questions would open up from that, then a thousand answers for each question.
It was an endless cycle.
"Aghh! I’m exhausted!" he groaned as he made his way back to the palace. "Only Xiu’s food can cure now."
