In a dark corner of Clash Online, two figures t with their hood covering their face. The mask was unnecessary because any passerby saw the nas being shown over their heads.

But no one was foolish enough to attack the now-famous Cane as well as the No. 1 player in the server—Joseph. So they kept an eye on the exchange and watched as the exchange took place right in front of their eyes.

"Have you brought the weapon that you want to enhance?"

Cane asked as he extended his hand toward the weapon. Joseph looked hesitant, but took out the sword. He did not imdiately hand it over to Cane, but waited.

That gesture told Cane that Joseph did not fully trust him. He was a cautious player.

"Before we start with the enhancent, I want to hold on to sothing of yours in return. This sword is costly, and I do not want to have soone else take it, even if it’s you."

Joseph seed concerned that Cane would steal his sword, which was a valid concern to have. After all, the sword in Cane’s hand would sell for a lot, even just the base form without any enhancents.

And he would have considered doing it, had it not been for his goal.

"Don’t worry. I will give you sothing in return for this valuable item. Here, you can hold on to the sacred elixir he has. It might not be as good as your sword in terms of value, but it is so solid money."

Cane told the man in front of him, and Joseph took the offer. He did not complain because he knew that nothing Cane had at his current level matched the cost of his sword itself.

"I will take this offer. So, how long do you need to give my sword back?"

Joseph asked and Cane almost told him one minute before he caught himself and coughed to hide his eagerness.

"I will head back to the inn and take so ti with your request. After all, I cannot afford to screw up here."

Cane told Joseph and he nodded.

"Just...let know if you accidentally break the sword. I have fard for a few that I can give to you."

He told Cane, and Cane just nodded. For a second, he did entertain the thought of bagging this sword, but ultimately decided not to do that and instead acknowledged what he needed to do.

He headed back to the inn just for formality’s sake before he held the weapon in front of him,.

He had the weapon as well as the materials needed for theoretically leveling the weapon up to level 20. This was sowhere he could save a lot of material from.

"Now, let’s begin."

[Would you like to enhance the weapon up to 2?]

"Yes"

[Due to the effect of the absorber, weapon exp has been multiplied by 100. Weapon has leveled up to 20]

The sword in Cane’s hand shone before it began to crack and his heart dropped in his throat.

"W-What the—"

He was sure that he had sohow broken the sword. But when he opened his eyes, he saw the sword glowing white with an outer shell falling apart.

The weapon had changed forms after being leveled up.

[Weapon: Crimson Blade (L). A blade that has awakened and changed forms beyond mortal comprehension.]

The note was simple but the fact that it was an L-ranked weapon was groundbreaking news for the community. It was the first ti an L-ranked item had appeared in the local server and even the system decided to make it a big deal.

[Congratulations, the first L-ranked weapon has appeared in the server. The server limit has been lifted. You can now get even rarer items as drops.]

The ssage was simple and yet groundbreaking. People who noticed this felt their jaw drop at the ssage in front of them.

Cane was sure that the whole server must be in an uproar about what just happened, but he remained calm and packed up his things before he headed out.

He had sent a ssage to Joseph offline and he went to the waiting spot to wait for Joseph to co and collect his weapon.

Joseph arrived not too long after and he looked at Cane with eager eyes,

"Is the weapon you equipped for the L-ranked one? Did it evolve in class after you enhanced it?"

Joseph asked with an eager voice and Cane nodded.

"Yes. This weapon he enhanced for you sohow changed shape and color and beca sothing new at level 20. Here, you can have it now."

Cane felt a little bit sad that he had to part from the magnificent weapon he had done everything in his power to enhance. It glowed softly as Joseph closed his fingers around its handle.

He moved the sword around a few tis before he looked pleased.

Cough

Cane coughed lightly in his hand to remind Joseph that he needed to hand his potion back to him now that he had his weapon. He felt like he had almost lost any chance of ever getting his elixir back...not that he needed it with so many in his inventory.

But still, it was about principle and Joseph also recalled that he needed to give Cane’s item back to him.

"Here, you can have your elixir back. And as I promised, I will grant you a wish as long as it’s in my power."

Joseph promised and Cane licked his dry lips before he proposed the question to Joseph.

"I want you to join the guild he is about to make. He knows that it might not be beneficial to you, but he promises you that you will not regret it...too much."

Cane’s voice sounded strong and persuasive. He was also not backing down from telling Joseph what he wanted.

Joseph’s silence felt tense and Cane waited for a rejection to co his way so that he could try to convince Joseph once more.

But surprisingly enough, Joseph just shrugged and spoke softly.

"Sure, why not?"
