It didn’t co as a shock to Aegon because he had already expected this. He had concluded almost ninety percent that he was the one, so them finding out, wasn’t surprising.
"What would you have to say for yourself?" a random voice exclaid.
But Aegon didn’t utter a single word but stared with an expressionless face.
"Can’t get your tongue... huh?" another Farr spoke out, about to charge out but was held back by Natsu.
"What are you doing, let go?!" the Farr exclaid.
But Natsu didn’t listen while he used his strength to hold the Farr, before saying;
"Just hold on and let her do the talking."
By ’her’ he was referring to Nyra, as it was expected of her. She was the one leading the entire Farrs so it was only right that she was the one who would do the questions.
Nyra was at the forefront of the Farrs with Sinon, Chro and the others in her party. She didn’t step forward, but stayed with her party as though sending a ssage.
"We have co to a conclusion..." she began. "Do you know if anything you did might have distributed the challenge?"
Nyra asked directly without even considering if Aegon had thought of the situation yet, but how could she?
It wasn’t as though Aegon’s expression was possible to read. His expression was tough as a monolith, nothing could be read from it.
Silence followed after Nyra had asked the question, as Aegon did give her a response.
Seeing this, she sighed and asked again.
"I know this might co as a shock to you, but you are the only one we don’t know much about since we entered this place."
"It is only logical that we pick you as a pri suspect. What happened during your fight with that massive monster?"
As the question left her lips, every Farr’s eyes were on Aegon. They were waiting for an answer, but there was none.
"The shockwave that we felt, was that you?" Nyra finally asked the question she had held off when Aegon t with them again.
At that ti, she had a choice, but now she doesn’t. How could she?
Nyra wasn’t doing this because she wanted to, if it was left to only her she would have liked to discuss it personally with Aegon.
However, her hands were tight. She was the leader of the Farrs and had to take up the responsibility of a leader.
She knew that if she didn’t do it, soone else would do it, and it might lead to violence. After all, he was just a single person and there were a lot of them.
But they didn’t know the kind of abilities he possessed.
Seeing that there was no response from him again, Sinon stepped in and asked her own questions.
"Are you a S-rank Farr who had faked his rank?"
’Not this again...’ Aegon thought inwardly.
"Considering your ability I’m guessing you are in that category because a F-rank Farr can’t display that kind of talent ability."
Sinon had asked another question but there was still no response from Aegon.
Although she had admired him in the early hours, this was about life and death, and such emotions can’t co close.
"S-rank Farr? Oh please, as if!" a male voice spoke out in doubt.
"How can he be an S-rank Farr, he might be a false ranker but S-rank? That’s a dream."
"S-rank Farrs only show their faces when it is most important. They are royal who can go against certain rules and get away with it, because they are among the strongest."
"And you think him to be one of them?"
There were doubts in the air that they didn’t even know half an hour had already passed.
’This people are all idiots...’ Aegon thought inwardly. ’I should leave now and let them die.’
Of course he could leave at any ti, after all he had the return stone. He was only holding out because of his appreciation towards Nyra and her party.
However, now that they had all planned to have him killed, why shouldn’t he use the return stone?
Why shouldn’t he leave then to die?
If he was to leave them, aning their only way out had escaped, what then?
Would they simply find another person to take his place? Or would the voice pity them and allow them to live?
’That’t not possible. From the way it had killed that farr earlier, I don’t think it has pity in its heart to do such a thing.’
"He must be hiding sothing and not telling us!" a random Farr exclaid.
"I say we should just kill him and be done with it, it isn’t like we have the ti to spare."
"Yeah, he is a F-rank Farr after all. Forget the way he used his ability, F-rank is F-rank, and he is the lowest amongst us all.’
’They are right, but I can’t just send him to death after all had done to save our lives.’ Nyra thought in her heart.
’I get that he might be a S-rank Farr and was probably sent by the higher-ups to investigate the disappearance of Farrs, but how would we leave here if we’re held captive.’
’It is not as though we could even face him if all of us tried, he’s S-rank after all. His strength is far greater than ours.’
’Most of these Farrs might not want to believe that he’s S-rank but how would they know? It’s not as if they have seen one before to be able to tell.’
"So what do we do now?" Chro walked towards Nyra and asked. "He is not saying anything, that ans he surely knows sothing, what should we do?"
Natsu looked at Chro as he was speaking to Nyra and forgot he was holding soone.
In that mont he got distracted, the Farr who he was holding and preventing him from running to Aegon, had just slipped from his grasp and charged towards Aegon.
The man had a black dagger in his hand, his lips curved into a psychopathic smile as he stretched the dagger towards Aegon to kill him.
Everyone saw this and even soone almost shouted ’no’ but imdiately covered her mouth.
The distance between the man and Aegon wasn’t far, so it was normal that Aegon wouldn’t be able to react on ti and be killed.
And just as expected, the Farrs all saw what they wanted to believe.
