The Farrs were all surprised to see Aegon appear before them as that could only an one thing.
Did he kill that monster, all by himself?
Is he even human?
Their minds were racing with so many questions that if each of them were to start asking one after the other, they wouldn’t be able to get out on ti.
Nyra was the first to approach Aegon while the others held back as though they had seen a ghost.
She asked him about the fight and he simply told her he had taken care of the monsters.
Although she had asked a couple more questions, she withheld the main question; if he was the one that caused the sudden shockwave they felt or the monster?
That was a topic she didn’t want to bring up since she hadn’t co to a conclusion yet.
’Was he the one that caused the shockwave?’
’What sort of power does he possess to be able to accomplish such a fit?’
There were questions but no answers.
While still with Nyra, Chro walked towards Aegon and spoke to him.
But first of all, he watched how Aegon was with many bruises and still walked as though he wasn’t injured.
Chro thought of Aegon and then of himself. If it was him, would he be able to walk in such a state?
He had known he was still lacking in strength. His talent was turning his body in bronze iron, but he could only maintain it for so minutes.
And even with that ti, he wasn’t as strong as he wanted to be, that was why he stayed with Nyra; so he could learn one or two things from her.
Sinon on the other hand, had her doubts about Aegon defeating such a monster. The logic wasn’t there, but then again she had believed him to be a S-rank Farr.
Chro gave way for Aegon, as Aegon and walked towards the pedestal crystal. He looked at the pattern and the color of the crystal and then realized they made no sense to him.
"This doesn’t make any sense." Aegon uttered.
"Exactly, that’s what I think also. The first pattern was much better." Chro responded.
Aegon looked at Chro after he had finished speaking and had no idea of what Chro was talking about.
He didn’t say the pattern made no sense because he knew it, but rather because he didn’t understand what he was looking at in general.
"So you said that it needs a great amount of mana to operate, is that right?"
Chro nodded while facing Aegon.
He was surprised that Aegon was thinking of a solution just like they had done, but there was still no way that he could do anything.
"And that’s only one of two options you have to make it work?" Aegon asked again.
Before Chro replied, he felt sothing strange in his heart with the way Aegon had said two options ’you’ have to make.
’What does he an to you? It’s ’we’. We are all trapped here together if this doesn’t work.’
With this in his heart, Chrone raised his head and his gaze t with Aegon who was facing him and waiting for a response.
"Yes. The other option is not very favourable, as it requires a few touches in its chanics, but no one here is capable of such operations."
Aegon stared at Chro for a while then turned back to the crystal and mumbled:
"Then I guess we just have to go through with the first option."
Aegon has already been briefed on how the pedestal crystal was supposed to work, and the chances of success earlier.
But what they had now was sothing else all because of the shockwave that occurred which was indeed his fault because of his ability.
However, there was no way he would have known that such would happen. And even if he knew, it wasn’t as though he could stop it.
Aegon had also heard that if they were to pour their entire mana into the crystal they would all lose their lives.
So he decided that he was going to do it himself, since he knew he had nine MPs left out of twenty-two.
Even if the crystal required a large amount of mana, it wouldn’t be as great as what the ability [Colossal Gate] costs.
Knowing this, Aegon ordered:
"Everyone should step backwards, I need space."
"W...What are you going to do?" Chro asked, curious. He didn’t understand Aegon’s intentions.
"Just do as I saw..." Aegon uttered.
Chro looked at Aegon for a while before he moved backwards. He hadn’t known Aegon for so long but he felt that he wasn’t a bad person.
If he was, he wouldn’t have fought for them and still cared about a way out.
This ca to Chro’s thoughts and vanished in an instant. He wasn’t the one to trust in people as he only followed facts and logic.
All the Farrs followed the instructions of Aegon as they saw Nyra, Sinon and Chro stepping back.
Who were they not too?
Of course, most of the Farrs had in their thoughts doubts.
Is he seriously trying to fix it?
No, I think he wants to add his own mana.
What? That’s just crazy, it’s gonna kill him.
These Farrs had their doubts, but why wouldn’t they? They don’t know the kind of power he possessed as their experience was only confined to the re battle they faced with low rank monsters.
They wouldn’t dare to think of what kind of monsters a higher ranker would face off, that was why they didn’t believe he could achieve such a task that they deed difficult.
Aegon placed both of his hands on the pedestal crystal and imdiately the system altered him.
[Ding! A Mythical Object has been Detected!]
[The object is made from materials that are not recognized by the system!]
[Note: Mythical Objects are usually made by gods!]
Aegon looked and read at what the system had displayed, then he mumbled words that only himself could hear.
"Release two mana points..."
It wasn’t a skill or ability he was calling forth but re words.
Just then, the Crystal began to illuminate, each light beaming with their own colors brighter than how it was normally.
At this point, Aegon was pouring his mana into the crystal and the intrinsic ancient writings began to glow.
"What? He’s doing it?" a voice exclaid.
"How is that possible?" another added.
They were all baffled as their eyes gazed upon the seven shimring color lights.
As the light beca brighter, the pedestal twisted for a bit as if it had unlocked sothing.
Then it raises up an inch and twists again, then raises up an inch again and twists. This went up seven tis as if a puzzle was being solved.
However, on the seventh turn the pedestal hung.
Aegon and Chro were the only ones who noticed, but the other didn’t know what had happened.
’What happened?’ Aegon thought inwardly. ’Shouldn’t it have worked in the seventh?’
Aegon tried to place more of his mana into it, but it was futile as a familiar but cold voice spoke.
