Day Ninety-Eight...
Jane blinked several tis as she cleared her vision. She had a dream but she had forgotten all about it after waking up. However, she couldn’t explain why she felt so sad while tearing up.
She turned to her side only to et Nathan’s gaze.
"Jane!" Nathan uttered her na as he hastily stood up to approach her. He didn’t even care about the laptop that was dropped on the floor.
She raised her hand, removing the oxygen mask. "Nate," she called him in her hoarse voice.
She had just sat up when Nathan engulfed her in his arms, hugging her tightly.
"You are awake! Finally awake..." Nathan tightened his grip on her body, afraid to let her go.
At that certain mont, Jane’s tears stread down her face like pouring rain. She couldn’t stop crying as she hugged Nathan.
"You are alive. I thought you died. I was so scared. I thought I would never see you again." Jane had forgotten so parts of her mory, including Bam-Bam, her soul swap, and her one-hundred-day mission.
She could still rember that she decided to end her life when she thought Ethan and Nathan both died because of her.
"Nate, where is our son? Our Ethan? Where is he?" She burst into tears further, recalling how Ethan protected her.
Jane didn’t know that Ethan also survived miraculously.
"Nate... it’s my fault! I failed to protect our son..."
Just when Nathan was about to tell her that Ethan was safe and sound, a voice was heard from the door.
"Mommy!" Ethan scread with joy as he ran toward the sick bed.
Jane and Nathan heard his voice so they both glanced in his direction.
"My son! He is alive!" She felt so happy upon seeing her son making his way to her.
Nathan released her from his embrace to pick up Ethan. The young boy imdiately pounced on his mother, wrapping his small arms around her neck while burying his face on her chest.
Ethan felt so relieved. His mother finally regained consciousness. They had been waiting for her.
anwhile, Jane embraced Ethan tightly. She felt as though her nightmare was gone. Ethan and Nathan were both safe. She didn’t lose them.
Nathan joined them, hugging the mother and son. The three of them got reunited after that tragic incident in Monica’s hideout.
"Mommy, you are finally back! We will never get separated again!" Ethan gently patted Jane’s back.
anwhile, Nathan caressed Jane’s cheeks, wiping her tears away using his thumb.
"Let call the doctor first to examine you." Nathan pressed the ergency button to summon the doctor on duty. He didn’t want to leave Jane and Ethan’s side so he resorted to this thod to call the doctor and nurse.
However, the ergency signal not only alerted the doctor and the nurses on duty that day, Mr. Hiroshi, Hanabi, Cherry and others also received the ergency signal.
"No! Sothing happened to Sis Jane! Is it cardiac arrest!" Hanabi imdiately stood up and ran in the direction of Jane’s ward.
Mr. Hiroshi, Tatsumi, Cherry, Aiden, and Stephen, who were visiting the facility, also proceeded to Jane’s ward in a hurry.
Everyone was worried sick, thinking Jane’s condition had worsened further. Several footsteps could be heard from the outside.
Bam!
Mr. Hiroshi roughly pushed the door open.
"What happened to my daughter?! Will she be okay?" Mr. Hiroshi asked in his trembling voice. His face was covered with worry and fear.
Mr. Hiroshi froze in his spot as soon as he witnessed the scene before his eyes. The other visitors also arrived.
Everyone halted on their steps, just standing at the entrance door. The doctor couldn’t enter the ward since everyone was blocking his spot.
"Please let pass. I need to check the patient," the doctor said.
But to his surprise, no one listened to him. Everyone finally moved, approaching Jane’s sick bed. Almost everyone was in tears.
"Doc, did the VIP patient die?" The nurse, who had just arrived, asked the doctor. She thought Jane died because the people surrounded the bed, and most of them were crying.
The doctor just smiled, tapping the nurse’s shoulder. "No one died. She is alive..." he pointed his finger at Jane.
The nurse gasped, feeling relieved and happy.
anwhile, Mr. Hiroshi and others began asking Jane about her condition.
"My daughter, are you still in pain?" Mr. Hiroshi reached out, holding her hand.
"Jane, how do you feel?" Stephen asked her worriedly, making sure she didn’t feel any discomfort.
"Sis, are you hungry?" Cherry and Hanabi asked her in unison. They thought Jane had been in a coma. She needed to eat to replenish her strength.
"My lady! If you need sothing, just tell us!" Tatsumi butted in.
As everyone bombarded Jane with so many questions, soone suddenly wailed loudly behind them. It was Aiden. He dropped to his knees, wailing like a kid. His action caught everyone’s attention.
"Aiden, what’s wrong with you?" Cherry crouched down, tugging his shirt.
Aiden’s tears stread down his face as his body trembled uncontrollably. His voice cracked with each wail while his hand clutched his chest tightly.
Everyone watched him in puzzlent. Why was Aiden acting like that? No one died!
Aiden began to speak in between his cries, saying, "I’m sorry... I can’t help it. I’m just so happy... yes! Very happy to see my best friend, his son, and the woman he loves being reunited... I really thought... I would never see them again. I was so scared for the past few days... thinking they wouldn’t recover."
"It was so heartbreaking to see Nathan, Ethan, and Jane lying in the sick bed together... It was a hellish week for ... I thought I was the one dying in pain and sadness." Aiden continued, pouring his heart out.
"I couldn’t cry. I pretended to be okay. Making jokes... talking to them while they were unconscious. But deep inside, I was so scared... very scared of losing any one of them." Aiden continued to cry.
Everyone in the room felt the sa way. They were afraid that Jane, Nathan, and Ethan might not survive.
"However, those sleepless nights are all worth it! They are back! The three of them are back! My best friend, my godson, and my friend, Jane! I can’t stop crying..."
Everyone beca more emotional and sentintal upon hearing Aiden’s words. All this ti, he was the one who never showed vulnerability. He remained cheerful in front of them, encouraging them. Who would have thought that he was also suffering emotionally?
Cherry (aka Black Rose) hugged Aiden to comfort him. "Thank you, Aiden. You did a good job. You were so strong. You served as our pillar of support in those monts of uncertainty."
Everyone appreciated Aiden. He was truly a good guy.
At this mont, Jane tried to stand up. Nathan and Ethan were supporting her. The three of them approached Aiden who was still kneeling on the floor.
"Don’t cry anymore, Uncle Aiden. We are now back. Safe and sound." Ethan wiped his tears away.
Nathan tapped his shoulder and said, "Thank you, Buddy! I feel your concern for us."
On the other hand, Jane smiled and stroked Aiden’s hair. "You are still a crybaby, Aiden. How will you win Cherry’s heart?"
Cherry’s face blushed instantly because of Jane’s teasing words.
Everyone burst into a peal of laughter, enjoying this heartwarming mont.
