Day Ninety-Two…
At Butler Li's House
Vincent received a ssage from his Uncle Li, asking to et him in person. Since Monica was occupied with sothing, he went to see his uncle alone.
He was familiar with this old place. When his mother died, he stayed at his young uncle's house. Butler Li took care of him.
He felt nostalgic after returning to this place.
"Uncle Li, where are you?" Vincent called him out as he entered the house. There was no one around.
He frowned, puzzled at the deafening silence inside the house.
"Is he here?" He mumbled, taking his phone to dial Butler Li's number.
The number was now unattended.
"What's wrong with him?" he stared at his phone in disbelief. "Did sothing happen?"
Vincent was still trying to figure out what happened to Butler Li when soone showed up at the entrance door.
"Vincent." The voice of a middle-aged man was heard.
He turned around only to be greeted by the last person he wanted to see– Old Man Xu.
'Damn it! What is he doing here?' He cursed inwardly as he looked at his father with eyes filled with hostility.
"Where is my Uncle? What did you do to him?" Vincent asked him through his gritted teeth.
Old Man Xu had complicated emotions on his face. This was the son he abandoned and didn't acknowledge in the past.
"My son…" Old Man Xu uttered, striding toward him.
Vincent narrowed his eyes upon hearing that. He chuckled sarcastically and said, "My son? Don't be a hypocrite. You never consider as part of your family." He mocked him.
"Why are you here? What do you want from ?"
Old Man Xu halted on his steps. "I'm here to talk. Don't worry about your uncle. He is safe."
Vincent scowled at him, eyeing him with disbelief. "Seriously? Just get out of here. This is not your property."
"Or perhaps, do you want to kill you here?" Vincent threatened the old man. He couldn't hide his resentnt and raging fury toward his father.
To his surprise, Old Man Xu suddenly kneeled in front of him and said, "I committed a grave sin for neglecting you. Please forgive … son. It's my fault."
"I shouldn't have ignored your existence. I was angry at your mother because she tricked into sleeping with her. I was a coward… thinking that your existence would ruin my family… and my relationship with my wife." Old Man Xu admitted his mistakes.
He wanted to apologize to Vincent sincerely. "I know you are mad. But I hope to make ands and reconcile with you. Please stop your revenge. Stop bothering Nathan. He is your brother."
Old Man Xu humbled himself, requesting Vincent to forget about his revenge. He didn't want to see his sons fighting each other.
Vincent was taken aback for a mont. He clenched his fists, trying to keep his composure.
'What's the use of apologizing now? He is just doing this for Nathan!'
"Nathan! Nathan! Nathan again! You only care about him!" Vincent scowled at him.
"You are only here because you want to protect him from . You can't deceive , you sly old man!" he roared at him.
But Old Man Xu shook his head. "No. It's the other way around. I'm here because I want to protect you from Nathan. He won't spare you if you continue hurting the people he loves."
"Stop this already." He tried to convince Vincent.
But the young man was stubborn enough to listen to him.
"Then we will see who will die between us… in the end." Vincent was not afraid of Nathan. He had prepared so long for this revenge. He wanted Nathan to suffer and be miserable.
"I'm going to take everything from him," he declared.
Still kneeling on the floor, Old Man Xu gazed at Vincent with concern.
"Don't do this, Vincent. We can start over. I will give you the company if that's what you want. Take it! But please don't provoke your older brother further."
"He is not my brother! I'm not part of your family! I have no father!" Vincent kicked the chair in his outburst.
"Just leave!" He yelled at his father again. He couldn't control his rage in front of Old Man Xu. All his pent-up frustrations were surging up in his heart.
Old Man Xu slowly stood up as he tried to approach Vincent.
"Stop. Don't co near or else, I'll kill you," He warned him.
"Listen to , son. This is your last chance. Your brother sent here to talk to you. If you defy him… he will no longer be rciful."
"You've heard about the attack on your branches. It was Nathan's warning. Set aside your pride—this is a matter of life and death for you and your n."
"I said. I'm not afraid. I want to finish what I've started. No one can stop . Not even you." Vincent declared firmly.
"Vincent… Listen to us! Stop this madness." Butler Li's voice was heard from behind. He finally showed up.
"Uncle Li? What's the aning of this?" Vincent questioned him, feeling betrayed.
"Are you being blackmailed by them?"
But Butler Li shook his head. "Nathan already knew that I'm your accomplice. Your spy. But he spared . Let's stop this revenge, Vincent."
Vincent let out another humorless laugh. "I can't believe this. They've even influenced your decision now. Are you abandoning as well? Have you grown fond of Nathan and his family?"
Butler Li was not able to respond. He didn't want to admit it but it was true. He beca attached to Nathan after serving him for years.
Butler Li's silence hurt Vincent further. He felt betrayed. He was the only family he had left. And he still chose to side with Nathan.
"I'm doing this for your sake, Vincent. Nathan had already mobilized his n to hunt down every mber of the King Stallion Mafia. He learned the truth now. And you offended him."
"He ordered a complete annihilation. We are here to convince you to save yourself by surrendering to your brother!"
Vincent was stunned by hearing that. Were they telling the truth? He imdiately dialed Phoenix's number to find out what was happening to their n.
A few minutes later, shock spread across Vincent's face as he dropped his phone to the floor.
'No! This couldn't be happening! It's impossible!'
