“With such qualifications, Miss Gong, why bother auditioning for such a minor role?”
“Everyone is really strong! I’m already satisfied to have gotten this role,” she replied.
“Miss Gong is too modest. In fact… I think you’d be a perfect fit for the role of Shangguan Xianyue. I wonder if you’d honor
with your company for dinner, so we could discuss it?” The man smiled charmingly, thinking himself to be bewitching, but Gong Xiaoqiao only found him sleazy.
“I’m really sorry, Mr. Fan, but I have a prior engagent,” she said.
“Is that so? What a pity.” The man’s expression turned sowhat sour, and before leaving, he glanced at her contemptuously as if mocking her pretentiousness.
Gong Xiaoqiao sighed. Was this the legendary ‘casting couch’?
That guy was, at best, just a staff mber, judging so bit-part role—how could he possibly have the authority to decide on a leading lady? Did he take her for a grade schooler? So easy to fool!
Yet, rejecting him could an he’d secretly try to trip her up.
But in the end, it was just a bit-part, and it wasn’t as if she’d earned it through acting skills—losing it over such a thing wouldn’t be a big deal.
Exhausted, Gong Xiaoqiao returned to her hotel, opened the door, and threw herself onto the big bed—only to imdiately feel that sothing was off. What was so hard on the bed?

At the start, Shangguan Xianyue is good to Jun Yichen, but later on, it’s Jun Yichen who works like a horse to pay off debts. Jinmulin was stunned for a long mont before suddenly grasping her shoulders and shaking her “Little Junior Sister, are you crazy? You’re actually going to play a bit-part? I, Jinmulin, cannot stand for my people playing bit-parts!”
