Clatter!

Behind them, Cheng Lins phone accidentally slipped out of her hand and fell on the floor.

As Ji Fanyin turned to look at her, she awkwardly cleared her throat with her phone in hand. Im sorry, please go on.

Its alright. Im done here, Ji Fanyin replied.

Hearing that, Cheng Lin rubbed her earlobe nervously. Oh Oh, then lets go. The hospital slls bad.

Ji Fanyin nodded her head and made her way to the door.

Sister Ji Xinxin sobbed behind her.

Ji Fanyin halted her steps.

Ever since they were children, everyti Ji Xinxin pleaded with tears in her eyes, Ji Fanyin would always agree to whatever she asked for.

It was like her tears were an omnipotent weapon that had never tasted defeat.

But like other weapons and tools, there was a usage limit.

Ji Fanyin only hesitated for a split second and quickly caught up with Cheng Lin, who closed the door behind them.

You did well, Cheng Lin said rigidly.

Ji Fanyin looked at her curiously. Thinking she was being praised for not going with the flow this ti, she nodded her head. En, I tried to imitate what the other Ji Fanyin would do.

Cheng Lin: ... That teacher of yours was truly formidable. Learn more from her and you will surely not lose out.

As they alighted from the lift at the ground floor, a group of people flowed in.

From her peripheral vision, Ji Fanyin caught sight of Father and Mother Ji amongst them.

Father Jis luscious black hair was now populated with white hair, and Mother Ji was dressed in simple and plain clothing. It was a far cry from the glamorous branded clothes she used to wear.

To think they were both such attention seekers in the past...

Ji Fanyin could not help taking a second look.

Father and Mother Ji did not notice her. With two large suitcases behind them and another bag on Father Jis back, it seed like they were planning on an extended stay.

Cheng Lin had only noticed the latter lagging behind after she was two steps in front. Curiously, she asked, What did you see?

Mm I saw my parents.

Ji Fanyin scratched her cheek and smiled sheepishly.

Their company is facing bankruptcy at the mont. Youd better stay out of their way, Cheng Lin cautioned her.

Ji Fanyin retreated to the side of the lift and stared at the closed door for a while. After so thought, she said, I will never go back to how I was previously.

Then what are your upcoming plans? Cheng Lin stared at Ji Fanyin.

Ji Fanyins eyes lit up on the ntion of this topic. She turned towards Cheng Lin with excitent. I have been looking at so schools and have decided to continue my studies at the University of Oxford.

Cheng Lin had never been a front runner nor a tail-biter in terms of studies. As a mid-range student, she could not fathom Ji Fanyins words.

...Is Oxford sowhere you can go just because you decide to?

Its not easy to get enrolled there But Ive already emailed their physics professor and got a reply and an invitation to join them.

Ji Fanyin babbled on enthusiastically, Last night, I caught up with the science journals published in the past year by the top three universities specializing in science and the area she is currently researching interests

the most. Even though our majors are different, she seed to be interested in my thoughts on her research.

Cheng Lin: ...Ill never understand the world of geniuses.
