- HAZEL -

I got the role I wanted. Heck, I got an even better role.

I don’t get to do anything. All I need to do is sit down and watch my course mates train their asses off.

I tried to hide my excitent. This is a different kind of bliss! I feel like heaven is on my side. A brunette-blonde walks towards with a covered plastic cup and a straw. "Here locker girl. Chocolate milkshake."

It’s him. The brunette-blonde.

My cheeks burned when I saw him hold the cup to . I tried to cover my blush with my hair by shaking my head gently to the sides as I reach my hand up to take it. "Thank you." I said. I removed the paper surrounding the straw and dug it in the center of the plastic cup’s cover.

My eyes rolled back in my socket as I had the first sip. I fucking love chocolate and everything made with chocolate, except dark chocolate of course, but who doesn’t? I kept on drinking. I feel refreshed already.

Although the brunette-blonde has been with all day, he hasn’t told his na. He’s not even interested in knowing mine, he just calls ’locker girl’ which is totally understandable considering I t him in the male locker room.

"This!" I took another sip and gulped. "This tastes so freaking divine. Thank you so much! I could literally rip my heart out and hand it over to you right now." I said and resud sucking on my straw like my life depends on it.

"Really? Then give it to , locker girl." The brunette-blonde said. He was already standing in front of , but now, he moves his head lower to face directly. Was that a flirt?

I felt my face flush with embarrassnt. Don’t get wrong, I don’t hop on the next pretty, muscular, gentle man that is nice to easily, but there’s just sothing intriguing about this man.

Him refusing to tell his na is intriguing. I know it sounds crazy but that’s so mysterious and I like it.

Who on earth refers to a lady as ’locker girl’ anyway? That’s awfully strange but hey, I’ve been called ’hazelnut’ for as long as I can rember and it’s not even funny.

My chest starts to burn. It was then I realised I have been holding my breath and his face is still in front of mine. I could huff all over his face but I don’t think I want soone to sll my breath. One thing I know is that perceiving snacks or juice is nice when it’s not from soone’s mouth.

"Your hair is getting caught in my eyes." I murmured, trying so hard not to breathe on his face. The brunette-blonde is still staring at .

"Oh, sorry." He says and moves backwards gently.

I used this ti to let out a lot of air and inhale as much as I can before exhaling again. Soft fingers paraded the side of my cheek and I froze. The brunette-blonde tucks strands of my hair behind my ears.

I can swear that I saw the reflection of my cheeks as they burned in his eyes but that’s just being delusional. I wonder why all n do that.... Tuck a lady’s hair behind her ears like she got disabled for a second and doesn’t know when her hair brings her discomfort. I hold myself from rolling my eyes.

I wonder if n think it’s so kind of magic trick that pulls ladies to them like a magnet. It’s fucking old, n should think of sothing new for a change.

"Just to keep your hair out of your eyes." He winked and stood. This made blink.

n definitely don’t say that when they tuck won’s hair away. They use the usual cliché lines which relate to ’You’re prettier with your face out’ or ’You’re prettier when your hair doesn’t block your beauty’ or ’I want to see your ocean eyes’ and the typical shit.

I bit my lower lip and slowly brought the straw up my face. Thank God for the locker room accident!

Who knew I’d et a chiseled chest youth?

The brunette-blonde is staring at the field and I adore his torso from behind. The sun shines in his direction and I can see his hair glisten. I can see the wind push his hair and nearly body fit clothes backwards, outlining his body.

Not to talk of that model pose as he stands with his fingers in his pocket. The brunette-blonde seems so focused on the players in my team and I wonder if it’s because the ladies are making a fool out of themselves but are actually doing better than I am, or because I am in this team.

My mouth sucks the straw again and milkshake fills my mouth. That is sothing I’ll never know till he tells .

Considering he didn’t tell his na, assuming that he will tell why he’s here is far fetched.

A whistle blasted in my ears. "Everyone, get off the field, go for a half an hour break. We’ll resu the next half hour and begin taking laps on the field." Killian yelled. I stare at him for a second as he calls the players forward with his hand gestures. He seems so devoted to what he doing.

If I didn’t know better, I’d say he seems like he’s enjoying it. I doubt.

The only ti I rember seeing him smile or enjoy sothing was when he was having sex with and when he was around Kate. Other than that, he’s like an emotionless piece of rock.

I kept staring at this man in awe. Sotis, I wonder-, My mind began to wander when he locked eyes with .

Killian’s squinting gaze softened and his lips parted. I imdiately looked away.

He’s bad news. My encounter with him this morning proves it. Whenever he’s near, sothing bad happens to .

First I had sex with my best friend’s man, then I texted him on tinder and got drunk and he locked in a trunk, the night went on and I got a neck ache based on an injury he inflicted on .... and right now, he’s the reason for my foot injury.

My twisted ankle is a blessing in disguise but it hurts and still proves Killian is bad news. A bad news I’ve accepted to stay away from and till I’m in the right state of mind, I will always remind myself of this.

"Hey!"

I scread, pouring juice all over the sweater I’m wearing. Thankfully, it’s not mine... It belongs to the brunette-blonde.

"Geez, don’t sneak up on like that." I gasped, taking deep breaths. I sulked as I stare at the ss on my body. "You wasted my milkshake."

"I didn’t sneak up on you, you were staring at the sky." Kate said as a matter of fact. "And I will get you another one." She trailed her eyes down the stained sweater while saying that.

I turn to face her. "Soone’s being awfully straightforward today." I say, trying to sound child-like.

"I’ve been running and sweating on a field for over thirty minutes, so have a guess." Kate pants, fanning herself by pulling her vest back and forth.

She slls like sweat. It’s a good thing our dorm is in the school premises because there would be no way I’d enter an Uber with her if we stayed outside campus.

I giggled. "Be like and sprain your ankle."

Despite her tiredness, she grinned. "That would be worth it if more than half the team were actually good at sothing. They’re not. I see us getting Fs."

"Oh co on, no way. I’m passing my support by cheering." I raise my hand up and jiggle it.

"You’re a better player on a bench than in the field."

I place my hand on my chest. "You have said no truer words!" I flash my teeth and Kate playfully punches my shoulder. It doesn’t hurt but I can pretend that it does to get off the tracks way longer than I’m supposed to.

I glance back at Killian. He’s pacing around in a circle. He looks distressed. Not that I care. "I think soone misses you." I say to Kate and point my head in his direction.

She tuts, following my nod then stared back at . "He should. I’m pissed."

"What? Why?" I ask, dumbfounded. What could have possibly happened between them while they were occupied? You see, this is why couples shouldn’t play a sport together.

A sly grin forms on her face. "That’ll teach him to rember that no form of a secret relationship should get him to pick another woman up first before if an accident occurs in the school premises." Kate mutters.

Oh. It’s because of . I feel terrible.

A slap on my shoulder snaps out of it. "It’s not you, girl. Loosen the straight face."

I really can’t help it.

"There are different stages of pretense but a man should understand his woman more." My throat tightened hearing Kate speak. I don’t know why Killian ca to and not her but I don’t know if I should tell her what happened between Killian and I.

Better yet, maybe it’s best that I shouldn’t. It’s old news now. Plus, like she said, he was just trying to pretend and using her best friend was the best way.

"Okay, let’s get out of here. Everyone has gone and I don’t want to not use any of my break ti." Kate said. I look around for the brunette-blonde guy but he’s nowhere to be seen. He carried all day, and I don’t know if I can walk with my feet yet.

"I can’t walk." I said and sighed.

Kate stares at my feet and sighs too. "I guess I’ll get so snacks and co and join you here."

This makes smile. That would be lovely. "That is if you don’t get dehydrated on your way here or sothing doesn’t get you distracted." I tease.

That has happened so many tis between us. I don’t think this one will be different.

"I’ll leave my phone so you have nothing to worry about. I’ll get our usual snacks."

"And the chocolate milkshake." I added.

"Yup. And that. I will definitely not forget when I rember the sweater you still have on."

I laughed. No fair, despite it being wet and sticky, I am cold. I took it off.

"You have nothing to mock about anymore." I said to Kate. We were rounding up our discussion when soone walks towards us. It’s a girl putting on a sports’ vest but I know she’s not from our team.

"Hi, sorry for the random interruption but a man told to give one of you this." She held out a folded paper. Kate and I exchange glances then averted out gaze back to her.

"Did he ntion who?" I ask.

The ginger shook her head. "Nope. He said I should give this to you and the lady in question will know who it’s for."

My face flattened. I gaze at the folded paper in awe. We can’t just leave it with her but who on earth is sick enough to-

I halt my thoughts when I saw familiar initials on the paper. A scoff escape my lips. It’s Killian’s initial.

This makes a lot more sense. The letter is most likely for Kate.

Kate snatched the paper from the ginge politely. "Thanks." She said and spread it open with her fingers. The girl walks away. I waited for Kate to finish reading before asking any questions.

"So? Who’s it from?" I finally murmur.

"None other than our professor. He wants to talk to ." She responds.

"Well, go then." I urge Kate. She can be stubborn but this is her betrothed we’re talking about. "Hurry, leave."

Kate pouts. I can tell she’s trying so hard to hide a grin. "I won’t take too long and I’ll be back with our snacks. I promise."

"I hold no high hopes." I laughed.

Kate walks away.

Now I’m alone again. I smack my lips and tap my fingers on my skin. There’s nothing I can do but wait the whole half hour here. I run my eyes on the school field and everyone passing by, then I focus my gaze on my feet. The miracle feet.

Sothing glimred on the floor close to my feet. It’s white.

Oh no, if my bandage falling off already? I begin to panic as I lean forward to check what the thing is.

The good news is, it’s not my bandage but a tiny card that got covered my dust. I stared at the card and flipped it behind to see if it’s anything important before throwing it back on the floor.

That’s when I saw a writing. Written with a black pen, the words ’To H’ is on the card.

To H? What’s that supposed to an? Maybe it’s trash. I flung the card back on the floor.

Sothing struck my mind and I picked up the tiny, square shaped card again.

’To H.’ I read.

My eyes widen in horror.

Oh my God.... Was that letter ant for instead? I gulped and squeezed the card in my hand.

I hope not. I doubt. This might just be a torn out card laying aimlessly on the ground that I found.

Killian is not so stupid to send a letter to when he knows I’m the best friend of his fiancée who he has so sort of disagreent with.

.... Unless he actually is.
