- KILLIAN -

I feel it in every vein in my body. With every pump of my heart in my chest. Fury. It ravaged my soul like a beast.

I felt my world crumble the second she scread and I realised that she’d been shot. Quickly changing positions, I caught her before her body fell to the ground. Her eyes are shut close and her brows keep clenching and unclenching. Her feet wobbles on the floor uncontrollably as another scream rattles out her lips.

One thing I’m glad for is that she’s alive. But the wound. . .

My gaze lowers to see it. The wound is so deep that she needs instant dical care or she’ll bleed out. I can’t let that happen.

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. FUCKK!!

I lay her down on the ground, sitting her body up to give her a convenient sitting position with her back on the wall. I rip the sleeve of my shirt out then rip the ripped out portion into two, folding one half of my sleeve into a small bun.

“This will hurt.” I say to her, holding her arm. Luckily for , it’s a shoulder wound. I can’t help but feel maddened by the fact that the bullet punctured through her left shoulder. One little mistake would’ve been all it needed to hit her right in the chest, right through her heart.

And the bullet did not graze my skin in the slightest to ease up the effect of the bullet on her. Almost like she was shot on purpose but it doesn’t make any sense. I swallowed, pushing the folded sleeve through the wound to block the bleeding from within. Hazel winced, eyes bulging out as she muttered a loud cry. I know what she’s going through and I hate that she was shot instead of .

I can handle several bullets in my body but not her. Why did it have to be her?

My eyes water but I blinked, an attempt to dry what I think is tears.

I wrap the other sleeve over her shoulder tightly. This should be enough to hold the bleeding off for a while longer till I can figure out how to get the heck out of here and take her to a hospital. . .

The portion of the cloth where her wound is located imdiately pooled red.

. . . .And fast. She needs dical attention quickly. I cannot contact Liam. I am sure as hell that I lost my phone in this moronic cluster and I doubt I’d be able to call him even if I didn’t. Whoever this enemy of mine is, they better pray I don’t find them.

That’s it, no more hiding. No more trying to escape the easy way.

“Don’t move.” I say to Hazel softly, peering my gaze out the wall I laid her on. “And whatever you do, no matter what you hear, don’t look.”

Hazel mumbles.

She’s strong. For soone who just got hit by a bullet, holding in so much pain signifies strength. Especially when the burning sensation kicks in. I pull out my gun from the leather strap. My pistol is nothing compared to their rifles, but sothing I’ve learned throughout this raid is the shooters within the building don’t have snipers. And with the blockade the smoke screen gives, their n outside cannot directly fire to avoid killing one of their own. All is need to do is have one man captive with his weapons as well.

I walk out, crouching to the ground while walking through.

These raiders are everywhere. Good. It’ll make my job all the way easier.

- ASAMI -

I walk through the scene of my own doing, having a gas mask on and fully clothed with bullet proof vests, looking around.

This place is a ss. It will cost a fortune to repair all the damages done but good thing insurance exists, right? And to think all this is happening because of one little girl who doesn’t deserve to have what she does.

Irritation ridicules off my face as I walk through the smoke screen. I feel sad for other students, but I wonder how the squad could be stupid enough to use this. Even I can tell the gas is toxic. It’ll be hard for anyone to escape it with all the ss in every floor unless they have these masks and googles on.

I wonder if they’ve gotten the girl I want. I am no fool, it won’t be long before this reaches the press and every one of my n need to have evacuated before the governnt gets involved. S would hate that.

And that would be no good for .

I press the button on my wrist, walking through the chaos. Firing bullets and screams and loud, raging footsteps fill the air. Here is a total ss but I’m still pacing through calmly. The light beaming from the watch on my wrist alerted of one thing.

My ssage to halt the shootings and back down has been passed on to everyone I hired. This watch was engineered to pass on information to a certain number of people and everyone involved in this blitz at once. Each light signifies sothing and they’re well aware of it.

At least the ssage has been sent through. Where ever she is, even though she won’t know it is behind this, she will be shaken by this day throughout her years in school.

A bullet swoop past , hitting the wall next to my shoulder. That was a near hit. Grunts replay in my ears the further I walk.

From the sound of it, it seems like so people are involved in a gun fight wrestle. That’s odd. Who the fuck is that stupid to challenge gun n? Unless those idiots are fighting amongst themselves.

Whichever it is, I load my gun, I’m not about to sit it through. I run forward, keeping my body ducked while heading to the scene. So much is going on around but this one is the loudest chaos I’ve heard. I know I’m so close to them. Just not how close.

A body flies towards . I sorsault, barely avoiding it, while trying to keep an eye on the parts of the ground my feet and hands rest upon. What the fuck? My head beacons to the body on the ground. I can tell he’s not dead because of his slowed movent but what monster has the strength to tow a bulked up man with guns in the air like a rag doll?

Has the school already began taking action? If so, this is bad. I keep walking ahead, cautiously this ti as I do not know what I’m dealing it.

My breath hitched as I sight the cause of the ruin. I stand up straight, staring at the man panting with his head darted upwards to the ceiling. He looks like he just did sothing that needed a lot of strength.

My eyes examine the floor around him. This makes shiver and take a step back. The bodies laying on the floor are like a nurous packs of sardines all covered in blood with several small wounds on their bodies.

I swallow. Those are bullets. None of them are moving. Not even a groan is heard from amongst them.

My eyes widens, bulging out my sockets. He killed them all.

But why? Why go through the hassle when they were never after him in the first place? They wouldn’t have laid a hand on him even if they wanted to, I gave them strict orders. They knew who their target is so why? Bloodlust?

I can’t sight anyone other than him there. I want to leave but my feet remain stuck on the ground.

Killian tilts his head to the side. His face is covered with blood, stread in curvy straight lines from his head to his collar bone. So even drip on his ripped attire.

The furrow of his brows accompanied confusion before the darkened gaze he shot at . That passed a ssage. Sothing tells that he doesn’t need to see without a mask to know I’m the one behind it.

Killian didn’t co for though. In fact, he retreated backwards, into the gas. I’m still standing here. I don’t know why but I am.

A form erges from the barricade, coming my way. It’s Killian. He’s holding soone in his arms so tightly that you’d think he wanted to conjoin them but his grip is also soft on her.

It’s Hazel. My eyes leers on her long enough to sight the unprofessionally tied cloth on her which seems to be covering an obvious gash.

I see now. Killian murdered these people because of her. Because she was hurt.

My foot quivers backward, taking a step back. Sothing tells he won’t hesitate to do the sa to if I don’t step away.

I feel my heart ripping inside at the sight of this. He would kill for her. It saddens because I used to be soone he would kill for too. Now, the more I try to get her out of the way, the more I realise that it’s futile. Killian would never love even if Hazel was dead. I should just stop trying.

I let my body fall backwards, getting away from his path. He’s not coming for . He just seems to want to get her to safety.

My hand clenches around my gun. The urge to hold it at him and pull the trigger is high but even I know I can’t do that. I’m not strong enough to hurt him. I won’t be able to handle it.

A loud clang on the floor reverberates in the pathway as my gun falls to the ground. I’m watching the back view of his body head into smoke screen till his form vanishes from my sight.

I don’t lack oxygen, nor am I injured physically but my chest bleeds with an ache that drains out my energy and I’m finding it hard to breathe.

This. . . . all of this was for nothing.

He never will look at that way. And I just let myself get exposed to danger by pulling this foolish act.

My knees drop to the ground. The landing has an effect on them but I don’t react to it. My hand reaches for my riffle and I hold it to my neck, pushing the muzzle deep into my flesh. I shut my eyes tight while placing my finger on the trigger.

Tears run down my face, keeping my cheeks warm.

I. . . . I don’t want to suffer anymore. Not again.
