- KILLIAN -
She’s staying in a different room. Normally I wouldn’t be this bothered if I didn’t want her to stay with in my room. When last has it been since I actually held her in my arms? When last has it been since I had her here with , peacefully laying by my side on my bed? The highlight of my nights back then was watching her beautiful self sleep. Even though I always had one thing or the other keeping awake, watching her was the most reassuring and satisfying thing ever. It sowhat gave peace.
I always wondered how it’ll be when I finally understood what was going on with her and brought her here. I know alright, and she’s here but things seem different. Things seem strained.
Don’t get wrong, I am insanely angry that she did what she did but I can’t bla her. Not when I keep secrets and not when she’s at the age to be easily blackmailed by sothing so fickle. I let out a sigh, checking the ti on my phone. 11:29pm.
I can’t spend the night like this. The only ti Hazel and I indulged in a conversation was this morning. Not one word has left our mouths to be verbal with each other since then and we barely interact physically. It’s like I’m living with a total stranger when it’s actually the other way around. When it’s the woman I’m madly in love with.
I hurl my body up the bed and walk to the door. No matter what happens, I’m not letting the day end like this. We will talk and it’ll be pleasant, whether she likes it or not.
*
I knock on her door and wait patiently for a response. I know she’s not sleeping. I can hear footsteps and subtle noises coming from inside the room but I will give her privacy. “Hazel, it’s Killian.” I say before she could hit with the ‘who is it?’ question.
“Co in.” She says.
I don’t know why but I was hesitant at first. I felt like turning away. My hand reaches out to the door knob and I turn it. The door slowly creeps open. I push it back and step in. Hazel is spreading a sheet on the bed over the bed sheets. I watch her tuck the pink sheets in then layer it over with the duvet.
“Are you just going to stand there or you have sothing to say?”
Both actually. I’ll be doing both. I let out a sigh.
“Finished unloading your stuff?” I ask.
“I won’t be doing much of it. I still don’t know how long I’ll be here plus I’ll probably be ho after exams so yeah.” She breath. She didn’t stop to look at , her attention is undivided on what she’s doing.
“Do you want to stay that long?” I ask under my breath. This makes her halt. Her body withdraws from the bed and she’s staring right at . “If you’re willing, you can stay here as much as you like. It would be nice to have you comfortable here.” I add.
“Thanks.” She turns her back to . “But I don’t have that luxury.” A sigh makes its way to my ears. She’s tucking the pillows by the bed stand sluggishly. Looking at her now, I don’t think there’s much to do. “Have anything you want to tell ?” She turns, standing by the end of the bed. Sothing tells she doesn’t want us to exceed this distance between us, she’d rather we be far apart from each other. I an, I can guess why. I lose my senses when I’m so close to her, talk less of when I’m alone with her in a room with a comfortable bed. I take a step forward.
“What do you want to know? Ask and I’ll feed your curiosity.” I take another step forward, my eyes gawking at her like a hawk. She got too comfortable easily. Putting on a free blouse and matching shorts. I an, I can get why because she was alone in her room but when she invited to co in, she could’ve covered herself. Unless she didn’t see a need to.
She doesn’t consider a problem. Ouch. Bless her confident heart.
“Is there soone after ?” Leaves her mouth. “Am I really unsafe in my dorm or was this a ploy to get within your vicinity?”
I take another step forward. The closer I am to her, the harder it is to not look at her in every unholy way.
“Do you think so low of to assu I’d lure you here cunningly? If I wanted to, I would be direct.”
“What makes you think I’d listen?” She cocks her chin up. I can tell that’s a challenge.
“I don’t think. I know.”
Hazel scoffs. “Now you’re being cocky.”
A chuckle escapes my lips. She’s right, I am. In all honesty, I doubt she would even respond to my text if I asked her to co but at least she’d ponder it. I really should applaud her for holding her resolve and staying away from for this long. That’s hard to do, even for .
“Forgive , kitten.”
“My na is Hazel.” She corrects. I can see her jaw firming.
“I reached out because you were truly in danger. Believe it or not but I’m not that simple minded to worry you over nothing.”
“I didn’t say you are.” She fires back. What is wrong with this girl? I SHOULD be the one who’s mad. She left in the dark about this and dumped yet I had the decency to want to protect her and she’s giving an attitude?
Fuck this.
“Leave.” I say.
“What?” I notice her eyes widen and breath falter.
“Leave. Pack your shit and get out of my house. Now.”
The look of doom clouding her eyes mirrors so sort of satisfaction in and a half grin paints a corner of my lips.
“You’ve got no where to go by this ti, right? You don’t know if you’d be safe going by yourself either.” My tone is firm. I take another step forward. Her silence is all the affirmation I need. “When soone offers you kindness, kitten, especially when you’ve been the most unbearable piece of work,” I close up the space between us with another step forward and cup her jaw between my index finger and thumb. “And trust when I say you’ve been undeniably infuriating lately.” I tut. “The baddest kind of you that I’ve witnessed,” I lower my gaze and look her straight in the eye aggressively, not one part of my face hints that I’m joking. I claw my fingers into her jaw. The whimper that rattles out her lips leaves satisfied. “You shut the fuck up and be a good girl and tell him ‘thank you’.” I cock my head to the side, maintaining eye contact. “Is that understood?”
She tries to nod but my hand holds her head in place. Her brows furrow. My fingers are closing into her cheeks and I’m well aware that must hurt. She deserves more than that after the hell she’s put through.
“Talk.”
“Y. . . . es sir.” She mumbles.
“I can’t hear you.” My voice is stern.
Hazel gasps, bringing her hand higher to touch mine, just at the junction where it collides on her face. “Yes sir!” She mumbles out loudly this ti.
“Good.” I say to her and let go. Her body falls on the bed as her fingers massage her jaw. The look of contempt she flashes my way makes grin.
“Have a good sleep. I’ll see you in the morning.” I say, walking to her door. The aim was to get her to join not do this. “And Hazel, be nicer tomorrow. We both won’t like to deal with an attitude.” I shut the door behind .
I swear, I am in love with that girl but she just makes ever fibre of my body bloom with rage sotis. I groan, heading to my room.
Now to deal with the issue at hand, what do I do with Asami? As much as I desire it, death will not do either of us any good. Maybe jail ti would, but not death.
My finger circles my wrist. As tempting as that is right now.
