- KILLIAN -

It’s Friday morning, six am sharp and I’m sat on my chair in my ho office making a call. My hacker got back to , he’s doing his job quite well.

“I infiltrated the source and hacked into every device linked to the blog. By the ti everyone who had access to the story checks their phones or laptops, it’ll be gone. No hidden files or anything that can lead back to it will be found either. I erased copies and forwarded links. It’ll almost be like everyone woke up from a very long dream.” He murmurs from the other end of the line.

I know him quite too well, even though I can’t see him, I can tell he’s sitting on an office chair with headphones on, crouched lower with eyes plastered on his screen before him in his ga room feeling overly proud of his handy work. He’s a gar as well as a hacker and built his own hideout from scratch. He barely ever steps out. One would notice by his dark under eyes and how malnourished he looks but he won’t listen to words from outsiders regarding changing his lifestyle even a little bit. He likes it that way, snacking and gaming while doing what he does best with little to no sunshine ever grazing his body for months. As long as there is steady food and water supply, and deliveries, he’s fine being a stuck ho nitwit. I sigh. Trust , I have tried to get him to dive into a healthier habit but every word I utter seems to be dead weight once they leave my lips. It’s almost as if they never get to his ears and just fly over his head to a bin and after trying so hard, I finally decided to give it a rest. For now.

“You’ve done a good job, friend. I owe you one.” I say. If my mood was brighter, I’d smile at the accomplishnt but my mood is anything but grim. My jaw tightens as I stare into my computer, reading my marriage contract with Kate.

I’ll be heading back ho very soon and this refresh of mory is needed to create boundaries between Kate and I when I do. Hazel will be around us very often and I cannot afford to let her feel unneeded, it’ll break . I pick up a mug of coffee from my desk and bring it to my mouth. I take a sip out of it. Unlike before, it’s warm. I can tell it’ll last just a few more minutes before being flat cold. I’ll probably be in bed by then, reading a book.

A crunch like teeth sinks into sothing semi hard but bite able beams in my ears from the other end of the line, followed by subtle chewing sounds.

My throat tightens. The hacker still has sothing he needs to pass to . . . . Information I’m not ready to have yet. “Okay,” I finally murmur under my breath, tolerating the annoying sounds caused by his chewing. “Unmask this blogger to ,” I say to him.

Part of is still uncertain but if I have to kill this story completely, I need to target the root and maybe aid the possible student with university transfers. I swallow. If not for the hacker hacking into this person’s database earlier, photos having my and Hazel’s identity would’ve been out two nights ago.

A hard lump forces its way down my throat as I drown another mouthful of coffee. This information is taking way longer than I expected.

“It’s soone you’re well accustod with actually.”

My heart beats harder in my chest at his words. I drop my mug back on my desk and clench my fists. I’m hoping it’s not who I think it is. “Do say.” I mutter, relaxing into the stand of my chair.

A laugh trails from the other end into my ears. “I’ll email this to you. You’re not going to like this.” He says. “Bye!” Before I could say a word to stop him from hanging up, he cut the call.

A notification pops on my laptop screen almost imdiately. I head to my emails and tap on the latest unread one. My gaze darkens and my teeth clenches as I stare at the na of the blogger. I take a deep breath and sigh, trying to calm my nerves. My hacker friend also did the honours of having certain contact information of the person on display in the emailed ssage.

It’s a lady, alright. I wonder how much this lady loves risky gas. Ti to find out.

My fingers run over my keyboard, tapping certain keys as I construct a ssage for my hacker, giving detailed instructions. I take a pause to reread it before sending the email back to him.

An exhale leaves my lips. I can sense the adrenaline rush in my veins as my body itches to do sothing despicable to her.

There’s sothing I hate more than regular people and it’s the hungry ones. The ones who will do whatever they want for power or control no matter how low they go to achieve it. Such people are the ones that should be feared because one minute they’re for you, then the next, they’re turning their backs on you

‘I know who you are, leaking such information is low, even for you.’ My brows furrows as I read the ssages I want the hacker sending anonymously to the blogger from scratch. I just want to leave her fear stricken, if she is capable of experiencing fear. I doubt but it’s worth the shot as futile as it seems..

A chuckle leaves my lips as I bury my face in my fingers. My chuckle turns into a hysterical laughter and I delete the ssage I intended to send to him. It’s quite hilarious how far she went. It’s funny how she’s trying to ss with the feelings of a nineteen year old.

I rest my hand on the desk and stare at the hacker’s email from the screen of my laptop. The blogger is Asami. I expected as much but hoped to be wrong. I guess so people don’t grow out of childish habits after all.

Just what on earth do I do to her? How hard she makes it seem to agree to a truce since we’ll be working together on certain occasions in the future because of S. My fingers massage my temples and I close my laptop.

I guess I have all morning to think about what the best course of action is because I will not let this slide. Not when she made Hazel cry.
