- KILLIAN -
“Find everything you can and kill the story.” I say on the phone. Sat comfortably on the chair in front of my bed table while completely exhausted ntally, is . My fingers not accompanying my phone to my ears pinch the start of my nose then creeps down to the bridge.
On a usual day, I’ll leave this task to Liam but he’s overly occupied and not the only tech male I know.
“Do you want to find this person?” My brow raises at the question lingering from the other end. Curiosity is a bitch and I’ve tried to keep my hands off it. My initial thought, it could just be a bored fan girl or one of the school’s wanna be journalist, worst case, it’s Asami.
I think part of doesn’t want to do this myself because I don’t want it to be Asami and I don’t even know why. I swallow.
“I can track the blogger, but only if you want to.” The man’s, cool eerie voice coos from the other end of the line.
I clear my throat. “Do so and let know.” I could almost see the wide grin nearly forming on the hacker’s lips as I said that. I hand up and drop my phone on my desk. Today will be a long day.
I sigh.
The only thing keeping from leaving this school sooner than I should is the one person who’s ignoring , Hazel. I’m waiting for the holiday so I can be with her.
Deuce have it, she lives in the sa state as the masked killer, where my main ho is too. Where we first t. I fall my head backwards on the seat. Everything in my view is upside down. A hefty sigh leave my lips.
Sothing I do wonder is why S sent here all this ti when the killer was sowhere else. My initial reason for coming here was due to eting the child or children of my parents’ murderer but I had no luck with that. Now I’m starting to wonder a lot of things.
What does S really want from our deal? I can’t seem to put the pieces together because he has been coded as fuck about it.
A soft ding rings in my ears. It ca from my phone. Am I getting old? I don’t rember taking my phone off silent mode. I lean my hand forward lazily to reach for my phone on the desk and hold my hand up.
The text is from Hazel.
‘Hi, how are you?’ Frustrated, deranged and angry but I can’t tell her that. Another ssage drops in.
‘I’m sorry about earlier. I’ll et you tonight, okay?’
A half smile forms on my face. ‘Hey love.’ I start, dragging my fingers lazily across my screen.
‘It’s okay. I expect to see you soon.’ I send. I drop my phone back on my desk imdiately. My frustration is peaked at every second and it’s not a good thing. My hand is getting itchy but I’m trying to be patient.
A sigh leaves my lips. Over the years, I have thought of seventy five ways on how to get rid of her. Today, I’ll think of the remaining twenty five. My jaw tightens and I return my head backwards, bent over the stand of my chair.
Ti is ticking and it only leaves overly eager and impatient. I can feel the adrenaline rush flowing through my veins. I want to et this killer now more than ever, especially since I’m this close to finding her. . . . And boy, will that day be the worst day of her life.

“Hey.” Hazel walks in through the back door. I had no idea she knew about this entrance. The back door is linked to the kitchen and it’s wide open.
Worn over my body and tied behind my waist is my apron and the lace. An ash coloured, long sleeve shirt hugs my torso along with sweat pants on my lower half. The shirt material is flimsy and can easily be torn. It’s one of the reasons it’s the most suitable for cooking.
“Hey, kitten.” I respond in a suave tone, my hand accompanying a frying pan with hot oil in it. She ca earlier than expected, I thought I could make a good al before she arrived.
“Am I permitted to give you a hug?” She asks, standing sheepishly at the door. Her bag is still on her hand. I can tell she’s trying to know if she’s welco before making any move to get comfortable.
I drop the pan on the gas and turn it on. My head churns in her direction. “Since when do you have to ask for anything?” I say with a half smile. Seeing her face brighten up makes my heart flutter. Hazel gushes to , keeping her arms wrapped around my body. I stood still for a second, taking my ti to inhale her cologne and let her get cozy on my chest. My arms secures the slender width of her back, holding her in a warm embrace. “I’m yours, Hazel. You don’t have to ask to do anything to or with .” I groan, a low hum. Holding her this close to is causing an erection. “Or even for . Everything I own is yours.” My tone is suave. That’s a huge step and I know but I can’t help it. I want this girl to be more than she already is in my life and it scares .
“I’m sorry for staying away from you.” She mutters, head pressed into my apron. I move a lazy hand to the back of her head and my fingers sink into her hair, holding her small head to my chest.
“It’s okay.” I whisper into her ears. “Don’t be hard on yourself.” Her head moves in my palm and she tilts her head up to face . A gentle smile replaces the look on my face. I lower my face and press my lips on her forehead. “I love you and all the mood swings involved with you. So you’re permitted to be annoying once in a while.” I wink.
The furrow of her brows makes chuckle under my breath. I kiss her forehead again. “I know you love too.” The mont my lips co off her face, she twines her hand up my neck and pulls closer, locking lips with mine. Her face parts from mine slowly. “I want more.” Hazel mutters, trapping my tongue in her teeth. I manage to get it out by tickling the side of her waist. Her body jerks forward and rests on my skin.
“I’m cooking.” I utter in a low tone.
“Let it burn.” She hops on and twines her legs around my waist. That’s easy for soone with no cooking skills whatsoever to say.
I nib her lower lip and support her weight on my body with one hand, stretching the other out to turn off the gas cooker.
There. “I’m going to let out so pent up frustration so when I fuck you, take it like a good girl.” Her tongue leaves her lips and she makes a slimy trail on my cheek.
“Yes sir.”
A grin forms on my face. “And don’t forget our safe word.”
